I own and run a small dog walking and pet sitting business, Emily's Bark and Ride, which I work for full-time. My dog walking hours are Monday - Saturday 8am - 6pm. Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays. Pet sitting and pet check-ins are offered 7 days a week, subject to availability.

I offer dog walking, and pet sitting and pet check-ins in your home. My services are tailored to suit your pet's needs, just get in touch to discuss what that looks like for you. I will always arrange a Meet and Greet before committing to any bookings, so that I can get to know your pet, and you can get to know me. My pet sitting fee for dogs includes 2 walks per day, and they will not be left alone for any more than 4 hours (in total) per day! I am unable to offer boarding services in my home.

Before I care for or walk your pets, I always organise a free Meet and Greet so that we can get to know each other. This can include a short walk, if appropriate!
A typical day
I will tailor all walks to suit your dog - I offer solo walks (whether that is steady on-lead walks or solo runs off-lead), training walks (where I can help you to strengthen your dog's recall or loose-lead walking for example) and group walks where they can have fun running with their friends in the fields. Similarly, I tailor my pet sitting service to your requirements, leaving your pet for no more than 4 hours each day and providing walks, enrichment, and cuddles to suit them.

Pet care experience
I have a range of experience with animals - I worked for Guide Dogs for the Blind for over 6 years, firstly as a Dog Care and Welfare Technician and then as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor (Guide Dog Trainer). During this time, I gained a lot of knowledge regarding dog health, behaviour and body language. I also often fostered dogs in training, as well as those awaiting re-homing. Prior to this, I was an Animal Well-being Volunteer at Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, helping new dog intakes to settle in. Additionally, I helped with the raising, ongoing care and training of my family dogs, and have regularly cared for friends' and colleagues' dogs whilst they are away. Although most of my experience is with dogs, I am comfortable caring for all small animals. I have done some cat sitting for friends and have previously owned a hamster. I am trained in Dog First Aid and CPR (CPD accredited course), fully insured and DBS checked for your peace of mind. My vehicle is fitted with a crash-tested dog guard and cages.

Emily was fantastic with Oscar. I was a bit apprehensive as he's not friendly to other dogs and has never been walked by anyone other than myself. But I had faith and she showed me he was in good hands. Brilliant communication! Can't recommend enough ❤️
