As someone who works from home and enjoys an active lifestyle, pet sitting fits perfectly into my routine. I start each day with a walk, so having a dog by my side just makes it better! I’m out and about often—whether it’s longer walks, playtime in the garden, or just cosy company while I work. Your dog gets lots of attention, exercise, and love throughout the day, and I get a happy little shadow to share it with. They will also have a lovely little friend to play with, my spaniel Max.

Information Emily F. would like to know about your pet

1. Every Dog is Unique Just like people, dogs have their own personalities, preferences, and quirks. Some are super social and love meeting new people and dogs, while others might be shy or need more time to warm up. 2. Routine Matters Dogs thrive on routine. They like consistent feeding times, walks, and play sessions. Sudden changes can make them anxious or unsettled, so it’s good to keep things as predictable as possible. 3. Energy Levels Vary Some dogs are couch potatoes who love a slow walk and naps. Others are high-energy and need lots of exercise and mental stimulation daily. Knowing the dog’s activity needs helps avoid behavioral problems. 4. Communication is Key Dogs communicate through body language—tail wagging, ear position, posture, and vocal sounds. Learning to read these signs helps you understand what the dog feels, whether they’re happy, scared, or stressed. 5. Basic Training Helps Dogs that know basic commands like sit, stay, and come are easier to manage and keep safe. Training also builds trust and strengthens your bond with the dog. 6. Health & Safety First Make sure vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and regular vet check-ups are up to date. Some dogs have allergies or health conditions that affect diet or activity. Always keep an eye out for anything unusual. 7. Socialization Matters Early and ongoing socialization with other dogs, people, and environments helps dogs feel confident and less fearful. Poor socialization can lead to anxiety or aggression. 8. Dogs Need Mental Stimulation Exercise is important, but so is keeping their brains busy! Puzzle toys, training games, and new experiences help prevent boredom, which can lead to destructive behavior. 9. Dogs Can’t Eat Everything Some human foods are toxic to dogs (chocolate, grapes, onions, etc.). Always check before sharing snacks, and stick to dog-safe treats. 10. Patience & Consistency Are Essential Building trust and good behavior takes time. Patience, calmness, and consistency in how you interact and respond help dogs feel secure and learn what’s expected.

A typical day

1. Adventure Walks & Woodland Sniffari We don’t just walk—we explore. Whether it’s the local woods, a peaceful field, or a hidden trail, I let the dogs take the lead (on the scent, anyway). It’s all about sniffing, splashing in puddles, jumping over logs, and rolling in suspiciously muddy patches. Bonus points if we spot a squirrel! 2. Beach Zoomies & Sea Dips If the weather’s good and we’re near the coast, it’s beach day! Nothing beats zoomies in the sand, paddling in the shallows, or chasing a ball into the waves. Wet dogs, sandy noses, and tongue-out smiles are guaranteed. 3. Treat Treasure Hunts I love setting up little treat hunts in the garden or around the house. It keeps their minds sharp and gives them a real sense of purpose. Some sniff them out in seconds, while others look at me like, “You dropped the treat? How careless.” 4. Doggy Playdates If they’re sociable, I arrange little meetups with other friendly dogs. They get to run, wrestle, and show off their zoomies. It’s great enrichment—and I get to chat with fellow dog lovers while supervising the chaos. 5. Agility Fun in the Garden Think DIY agility course: weaves made from plant pots, tunnels from cardboard boxes, and low jumps using broomsticks. Some dogs take it seriously, others just knock everything over with their tails. Either way, they love it. 6. Cuddle & Massage Time After a busy day, we wind down with cuddles and calm energy. I give them little massages (especially older pups or those with anxiety), brush their coats, and make sure they feel relaxed and loved. 7. Pup Photoshoots 📸 Yes, I’m that person. If the lighting’s good and the tongues are out, I snap a few cute photos—especially if they’re rocking a new collar or just looking particularly proud of a stick they found. 8. Frozen Kong & Lick Mat Time When it’s hot or they need some downtime, I whip out frozen Kongs filled with peanut butter, banana, or yoghurt, or lick mats with calming snacks. It keeps them busy, happy, and mentally satisfied. 9. Training Games & Trick Time Sit, stay, paw—and then we level it up. Spin, roll over, ‘boop’ the nose—it’s a fun way to bond and keep their brains ticking. Every dog learns at their own pace, and we celebrate every tiny win. 10. Movie Nights & Sofa Snuggles To end the day, we snuggle up with a blanket (and a few dog hairs) for a film or chill evening. One dog usually ends up sprawled across me like a weighted blanket, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Emily was brilliant. An outdoorsy dog owner, she diligently introduced herself and our dogs slowly get our pooches tail from down low to high and waggy. Daily updates on how our dog was doing, pictures of what she was doing. Very attentive to changes in behaviour and contacted to understand what was normal. She had very obviously been having fun when we picked her up, tired from her days activities. I would recommend Emily for dog boarding to everyone

Emily has a dog of her own and would be an amazing dog walker she is a caring and a loving young lady who would love and care for all the dogs in her care. She has a dog of her own called Max who she adores he is a quirky character but she loves everything about him. You can rest assured that your loving pet will be safe and well cared for in the loving hands of Emily.
