Emily can care for
Availability
I work remotely, so my daytime schedule is flexible and easy to plan around. My weekly routine is generally very consistent, which means I know my availability well in advance and can provide dependable walks, drop-in visits, and midday care without last-minute surprises. Pet care fits naturally into my day—I’m able to step away for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, or medication visits while still keeping a reliable schedule for both pets and their owners.

Safety, trust & environment
At this time, I’m not able to offer boarding in my home, but I take caring for pets in their own environment seriously. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect in my own. I always make sure doors are secure, water bowls are fresh, and pets are safe and comfortable before I leave. I also pay attention to small details—cleaning up any messes, checking that toys are safe, and moving anything that could pose a risk (for example, a torn stuffed toy that could be chewed apart). One of the best compliments I’ve received from a client came after a week-long house sit: they told me, “It never even looked like you were here.” That’s exactly the experience I aim to provide—reliable, attentive care for your pet, and complete peace of mind for you.
Information Emily E. would like to know about your pet
Before any visit, I like to know your pet’s normal routine, personality, and any special needs. Things like feeding schedule, potty routine, exercise preferences, medications, favorite toys, and anything that helps them feel comfortable are always helpful. I also like to know how your pet responds to new people, other animals, loud noises, or being left alone, as well as any habits I should watch for—such as chewing, escape tendencies, food sensitivities, or anxiety triggers. The more I know ahead of time, the easier it is for me to keep your pet comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you’re away.
A typical day
I like to make sure every pet gets the kind of attention and affection they’re used to from their owners. Depending on your pet’s personality and energy level, that might mean a walk, playtime, brushing, a game of fetch, or simply sitting with them for company and plenty of ear scratches and belly rubs. Some pets want activity, some want comfort, and some just want a familiar routine. I pay attention to what makes each pet feel happiest and most at ease.

Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for animals for more than 30 years, starting with pet sitting for neighbors when I was in elementary school. While attending college in Raleigh, I expanded my pet sitting work and cared for multiple families with a wide range of pets and personalities. Before moving back to this area, I worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility, where I provided daily exercise, supervised play, administered medications—including insulin injections—and made sure each dog felt safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is simple: to give your pet dependable care, attention, and companionship while you’re away. Whether that means a walk, playtime, a midday potty break, or extra patience with senior pets, I treat every animal with the same kindness and attentiveness I’d want for my own. I understand that every pet has a different routine and comfort level, and I’m happy to follow your instructions closely so your pet feels secure, happy, and well cared for.
