About Me Hello! My name is Emily, and I am a recent graduate of UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology. I’ve always had a strong interest in animals, and I’ve gained experience caring for a wide variety of species through my education, internships, work at the Racine Zoo, and Rover. Pet Care Experience I’ve had animals my entire life and have always been involved in their daily care. I grew up with two black labs, Lilly and Maya, who were both a huge part of my life. I’ve also had experience caring for a bearded dragon and a hamster, and I currently have a rescue Mini Lop rabbit. Having pets with different needs has given me experience with a variety of behaviors, personalities, and care routines. I’ve also cared for dogs and cats of many different breeds and personalities, as well as livestock and exotic species. This is now my fourth year with Rover, and I have cared for over 100 animals. Through Rover, I’ve gained experience with feeding, exercise, medication administration, cleaning, and providing individualized care based on each animal’s needs. I currently work as a Seasonal Animal Care Specialist at the Racine Zoo, where I care for a variety of animals and assist with their daily care. I primarily work with the zoo’s farmyard animals, including goats, sheep, and pigs, where I help with feeding, cleaning, enrichment, behavioral observations, and medication administration. I also have experience working with other species through my zoo position and previous animal-care internships. I’ve always held a special place in my heart for animals, and I truly enjoy getting to know each pet and their individual personality. I will treat your pets with the same care, patience, and attention I would give my own, and I want both you and your pets to feel comfortable and confident while you’re away.
