Pet care experience

Missing my dog, loving on yours 🐶

My sweet beagle passed away this summer, and while I’m not ready to bring home another dog yet, I still deeply love pups. So here I am on Rover, hoping to scratch that dog-itch while caring for others. I’m new to the platform, but not new to loving and caring for dogs. I work from home, so your pup gets company and attention all day, no long lonely stretches. I’m active and enjoy walking, live close to a big park, and have a yard right at my apartment for easy outdoor time. I work in communications and I’m a former elementary teacher, so I’m a naturally clear, proactive communicator—you’ll get updates and photos without having to ask. I’m responsible, easygoing, and just want to spend my time around dogs. I’d love to take great care of yours!

Emily is an incredibly kind, compassionate, and thoughtfully detailed caregiver for any animal that comes into her orbit! Her wonderfully symbiotic relationship with her own dog has informed her own caregiving, and showed me what it can (and should!) be like to live alongside a furry companion. My husband and I have 2 dogs and Emily is the best auntie and caregiver they could have! I’m so lucky to have her in my life, and would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a village to help with their fur baby.

Emily comes to mind first whenever I need someone to take good care of my pup! She's so friendly and caring, and I never have any concerns leaving her in charge. Tails wag whenever she shows up!

Emily is a caring and experienced former dog owner/always a dog lover. She’s cared for puppies, teens and elderly dogs with varying degrees of needs and energy levels. She’ll make sure your pup is well fed, walked and loved. A former school teacher for more than a decade, she’s a trustworthy and reliable caretaker. Your dogs are in good paws.

Schedule

Since I work from home, dogs I care for get plenty of company throughout the day—walks, playtime, and check-ins built right into my normal routine. Mornings usually start with a walk (we’re close to a big park, so there’s plenty of room to roam), with more potty breaks and playtime spaced through the day depending on your pup’s needs. I’m easy to reach and happy to send updates and photos so you always know how your dog is doing.

Safety, trust & environment

I only care for one dog (or one family’s dogs) at a time. I’m not trying to build a pet boarding business, just looking for some side income and to get pup time, so your dog (or dogs, if you have a pair) gets my full attention. My apartment isn’t huge, but it’s clean, calm, and relaxing, and I’m on the first floor right by the door (easy in and out access). I don’t have kids, so it’s a quiet, low-chaos environment. I spent 11 years as an elementary school teacher, so caring for others (kids, families, etc.) is something I know how to do well. I’m also an aunt to 15 nieces and nephews, so I’m used to keeping little ones (two- and four-legged) safe, happy, and looked after. My own dog actually came to me when my brother needed to rehome him, so being a compassionate, reliable caretaker is just who I am.
