I am home 90% of the time and pets get to run around our giant fenced in yard or nap inside in the family room on big dog beds or on a blanket on the couch. We do kennel or "lock up" dogs at night for safety for everyone, but don't kennel during the day unless a problem occurs or if I have to leave for a short time.

We let pets free roam the house and yard when we are home. If we need to step out for a bit they will be kept in a kennel or dog area that has a dog door for bathroom use. They are never in a kennel longer than 2 hours during the day, and its never more than once. We really do pamper our pet guests! They are very loved when they are here!

We only take social dogs. We are a hands on "fun home" with other pets and people always around. We don't have babies or toddlers so the kids they will be around are gentle and good with animals. I will not accept a dog who is overly nervous or bites.
A typical day
We do one walk a day, followed with lots of playtime with my kids who are 10 and 12 years old. They also get to run around my large fenced yard and nap during the daytime.

Pet care experience
We are a family OBSESSED with animals! I have a tender 10-year-old girl who has raised our baby chickens and pampers our small golden doodle dogs constantly. My 12-year-old son is also gentle and loves to play, entertain, and care for all dogs. We have cared for many dogs and boarded family and friends' dogs for many years and treat them like family. We love the puppies and the elderly, all deserve to feel safe when their parents are away!

I'm mostly disappointed I don't live closer because Emily and family would be my go-to every single time if I did. They only get 5 stars because I can't go any higher. One of my dogs had a medical emergency while with them (not related at all to their care, just a result of getting older) and they took care of her like she was their own....or even better than many would take care of their own. When Maya was having difficulty walking, Emily literally carried her around and did the whole thing keeping me aware of every update. And her (and the kids') genuine love for my dogs shown through again and again. I've had a variety of good and bad experiences on Rover, but this is the best sitter I have ever worked with. Literally can not recommend them highly enough
