I really hate to have to leave a negative review as I really did like Emily during our meet and greet and most of her time spent caring for my cats went very smoothly. My fiancee and I were going away for the weekend for our wedding so of course everyone I would have otherwise asked to check up on my cats was also out of town with us. This was my first time using Rover so I was very nervous about the experience but as mentioned I did feel very comfortable during my Meet and Greet with Emily. She had brought her young son with her and asked me if it was okay if he helped out as he liked to earn some money by assisting. I didn't really see an issue with it as during our meet I could see her be very strict with him so I wasn't particularly worried. Unfortunately on the last day Emily dropped in to clean litter boxes and fill water fountains, her son apparently opened the door to our backyard and two of our cats ran out. This actually happened during our wedding ceremony so we didn't even see the message until maybe an hour later when we were on our way to our reception. This was a very sensitive incident for us because just three weeks prior one of our cats was hit and killed by a car right in front of our house. Emily did do what she could and stayed for a few hours doing what she could to encourage them to come home. At some point we knew there was nothing more she could do so we gave her some instructions on how to leave the house configured to give the cats the opportunity to still come in on their own but without leaving our house vulnerable to robbers. She did comply with this and was very apologetic about the situation. We were lucky to get both cats back inside the following night when we came home. I do understand that this was an accident and not malicious or intentional, but at the same time there really was no reason at all for that door to have been opened. These particular cats were sequestered in our sunroom and so had very little space to hide from them when they came by. Opening that door was a prime opportunity for them to go hide. The cats in the main part of our house will hide under our bed so there's really no risk of opening say the Front Door. Thus while yes this was accidental, it was also completely avoidable. So for that I am disappointed. I'm sure this has been a major learning experience for Emily and her son and I'm sure it won't ever happen again.

We love using Emily and the addition of her son when visiting our pet. He loves hanging out with them and playing! Emily is very attentive and thorough with her visits. Outstanding communication! We will use her every time!
