I work full-time, Monday – Friday, in the Bodelva area. Annual leave periods will be updated on my calendar accordingly. Weekends are generally free, unless I have been rota’d to cover a Saturday or Sunday - this is usually once a month and in return, I receive a Friday or Monday off in lieu of this. For day-care and housesitting requests that fall on these days, I will be with your fur-babies 24/7. My dog walking availability is 7:30 am – 8:30 am and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm during the working week. Weekends, etc (if free) can be throughout the day. My drop-in visit availability can be 3 visits a day, Monday- Sunday. During the working week, timings can be as follows – Morning visit (if required) before 9:00 am. Afternoon visit (if required) anywhere from 12:00 pm - 1pm. Evening visit (if required) 5:30 pm onwards. Please let me know if you would like me to feed your fur-babies during these visits - toilet breaks and play are a given! Due to the nature of day-care bookings, these are usually best suited on weekends, annual leave and time off in lieu days. Please contact me to see what can be arranged. My housesitting/’overnight’ sit availability during the working week is largely dependant on whether your pets are permitted to be left for a few hours at a time (only if the booking falls on days during the working week) – on these occasions, timings can be as follows - Morning – breakfast, walkies, etc, before 9:00 am. Afternoon visit – anywhere from 12:00 pm – 1pm, walkies for toilet breaks, play, feeding, etc! Evenings – home all evening and overnight from 5:30pm (can be flexible and earlier depending on work start time) Pets won't be left for any longer then an hour at maximum during housesitting bookings that fall on weekends or annual leave periods. *Please note! * *Due to rising fuel costs, I can generally only offer drop-in visits, walks, weekday housesits and day-care (beyond 1 day or night) within a 5-mile radius of my working location. Exceptions can be made for those who wish to contribute to travel costs. * *Due to licensing, I do not offer boarding or day-care in my own premises! * *I have been stung on a few occasions with parking charges - if your property does not have allocated parking, please understand I may query that you cover this cost* *I offer free meet and greets within a 5-mile radius of my working location. Anything beyond this will incur a fee to cover fuel costs*

When you trust me to care for your dog, you're not just hiring a sitter — you're gaining a reliable, compassionate partner who treats your pet like family. I prioritize your dog’s safety at all times, whether we’re on a walk, playing at home, or sticking to their feeding and medication schedule. With a calm, patient approach and an eye for detail, I ensure a safe and comfortable environment tailored to your dog’s needs and personality. I also keep you updated with regular messages, photos, and any important observations — so you always know how your baby is doing. Trust is earned, and I work hard to build that trust with both you and your pet through consistency, respect, and clear communication. You can feel confident knowing your furry friend is in capable, caring hands. In general, I like to air on the side of caution with regards to off-lead walks, unless one or more of the following conditions are met - A) the location is secure with no avenues of escape or triggers to encourage bolting - B) it is an area of minimal traffic of other dogs and C) the owner can demonstrate their dog has good recall. This is for the safety of yours and other peoples’ pets. Cornwall is home to many isolated and secure dog walking paddocks, purpose built for our reactive and nervous friends. Please let me know ahead of time if you would like me to take your babies to one of these – fees may apply. I am confident and well versed in catering to larger or more energetic breeds, those with complex, behavioural needs (such as separation anxiety, nervousness and signs of aggression) and those with specific medical requirements (such as food or environmental allergies, age-related degenerative diseases and short nosed breeds) and I am also indoor only/house-cat aware and conscious. In addition to completing my Pet First Aid certification this year, I have also completed various courses in Canine Behaviour, Health and Welfare to broaden my understanding of those in my care and I make sure to be equipped with my pet first aid kit at all times.

I understand how important our pets’ routine is and I’ll always ask that things such as timings, measurements, medications and treat allowances, etc, are written down or digitally noted, to ensure that these can be followed correctly. It would be good to be briefed on any allergies, anxieties, triggers or little quirks your pet has, to ensure I’m conscious of these during our time together. Contact numbers in case of emergency will be requested and details of registered veterinary practices will be queried. I may also inquire as to whether flea and worming routines are up to date and where appropriate, vaccinations have been given. Pet insurance details may be requested if necessary, however we understand owners’ circumstances and practices can vary. *Please note* As of April 2016 (dogs) and June 2024 (cats) it is compulsory by law that your pet is microchipped and this is up to date with your current details.
A typical day
A typical day of care can vary based on your fur-babies requirements and what you request, no one day can be the same! – I have seatbelts and secure boot space for jumping in the car for new adventures, or we can stay local for familiar rambles. Fortunately, Cornwall is home to a plethora of lovely dog walks with different terrains and varying levels of difficulty or distances. I myself know of some great walks, from coastal to woodland, with plenty of options for drinking water and rest should we need. I'm happy to take it slower and stick to gentle meanders with lots of opportunities for sniffing for senior friends, or increase the length of walks and level of play for more energetic pups – all of this can be covered on meeting. Non-retractable leads are preferrable, however not mandatory, as my own lead can be used.

I am totally sympathetic to those that worry about leaving their babies in kennels, I too share this concern and appreciate the anxiety that comes with removing your pet from the comfort of their own home - whilst kennels do tend to be cheaper, can you really guarantee your baby is getting the undivided love and attention that they deserve in their own, familiar environment? Please get in touch if you’d like me to care for them, in their own home, where my attention can solely be focused on them. Rest assured, I will give you regular pup-dates and pictures whilst your pet is in my care. I share my days with two sweet, well-behaved pups: a 14-year-old Border Terrier called Benny and a 7-year-old, rescue Jackapoo named Rosie. The former suffers with skin allergies in the summer and Rosie takes medication for allergies year-round (lucky us!) so I'm truly well informed in caring for dogs that suffer in these areas. Benny has also recently recovered from a Cruciate Ligament operation, which has afforded me a valuable understanding to the needs of our senior fur babies that need to take things a bit slower in their golden years. Emily was fantastic with my dog, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. I used her while visiting the Eden Project, and the whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. Emily replied quickly to all of my messages, was incredibly thoughtful about managing my dog in the hot weather, and clearly prioritised her comfort and wellbeing. Throughout the evening, Emily kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me real peace of mind. It was obvious my dog was having a lovely time and was being very well looked after. This was our first sitting with Emily and hopefully the first of many! Our meet and greet was great and invaluable with our family making a huge fuss of Emily who obviously knows what she's doing! Emily's communication has been excellent, lots of questions and intuitively picking up on specific areas important to us. Emily has been flexible, having to change plans to work around us and kept us informed of progress with lovely pics and comments. House and family all good and happy on our return. Looking forward to future sittings.
Emily was amazing when she came to look after our three dogs — Nate, Ivy, and Parker for a night. From the moment we met Emily, we felt completely at ease. She was warm, friendly, and clearly has a genuine love for animals, which our dogs picked up on straight away. Throughout the evening, she kept us updated with messages and photos, which was so reassuring and really showed how attentive and thoughtful she is. Each of the dogs has their own personality and needs, and Emily handled them all perfectly — giving them plenty of attention, care, and lots of cuddles. We came home to three very happy, relaxed pups and a very tidy house. It’s such a relief to know we have someone we can trust completely with our dogs.
