Introduce myself calmly, allowing them to approach me at their own pace. I like to discuss preferences you/your pet may have, such as diet, exercise, and what a normal day looks like. In my experience pets thrive on consistency. A predictable schedule also helps reduce anxiety and builds trust. I ensure my home is pet-proofed and safe. And the best part of this for me - Spend time playing, cuddling, or simply being present.

I am a professional dog carer with over 15 years of experience working with dogs across three countries: 10 years in the UK, 2 years in Australia, and 2 years in my home country of Canada. My passion for animals led me to start my own successful dog-walking business in Canada, where I built strong, lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Throughout my career, I have gained hands-on experience in dog walking, sitting, and behavioral understanding, catering to dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Emilie provided a cat-sitting service for our two kitties over the course of a week, popping in each day to ensure they were well fed, hydrated, and that their litter trays were clean. Emilie did a fantastic job over the week - we had absolutely no issues or problems while we were away. Emilie was also kind enough to send pictures and videos each day, which really helped put our minds at ease. Our kitties seemed to really like her visits too! Finally, we found that Emilie was very communicative and eager to take on the visits. Overall, I can highly recommend Emilie as a cat sitter, and we’ll surely be taking advantage of her cat-sitting services in the future.
