Every morning at 5 AM, my cat loudly reminds me it’s time for food, attention, or to be let outside. It’s the same routine I had growing up with my two girls, who would wake me at the crack of dawn to eat and go potty. I’ve spent most of my life being woken up early to meet their needs, and it’s taught me a profound sense of patience and responsibility. Their needs aren’t something you can put off or ignore—our pets rely on us entirely for their care. We are their caretakers, and it’s our job to ensure they are fed, let out, and cared for, no matter how early or inconvenient it may seem. They depend on us for their existence, and it’s a duty I take seriously every single day.

Emery is awesome. She is highly observant, caring, and goes above and beyond! She was able to bond with my high-maintenance German Shepards, notice and mitigate some issues with hen-pecking chickens, tended with care to the plants and gardens, and is just naturally great with all the living things and creatures.
