Reliable Pet Care

I began to offer pet-sitting to friends and family just for some dog breath and tail wags in my life after my dog passed away. A family member told me about Rover and - here I am! I know how important pets are to the families they love and how important it is to have peace of mind that they are in good hands while you're away. I will ensure that your fur baby has all that they need while they wait on their favorite human/s to come home. I've taken care of a dogs for most of my life. My childhood dog was one of my best friends. We would play together for hours and I was responsible to feed, bathe, and clean up after him. He loved belly rubs and going with us on family walks. When the neighbor's dogs broke through the fence and attacked him, I was the one who flushed and cleaned his wounds, changed his bandages, and nursed him back to health after he came home from the vet. He became diabetic when he grew old and I gave him his insulin shots. I also had an outdoor cat, and pet sat for a neighbor who had an iguana, fish, water turtles, and cockatiels. As an adult, I adopted a pit-mix rescue and we enjoyed obedience training, going to the dog park, car rides for a pup cup, going for walks, and playing tug-of-war. Last year, he was diagnosed with an oral tumor and he needed lots of extra care during his last months. He needed medication 3 times a day, a specialized diet when it became difficult for him to eat kibble, and eventually hand-feeding for him to be able to eat at all. He passed away 14 years old. I wouldn't trade one minute.

As always Emerald is amazing, glad we found her on such short notice. I appreciated her wanting to do a meet a greet she was thinking of our fur babies and wanting to make sure they were comfortable. They love her!

Super friendly, I like that we did a meet and greet before hand that way our dogs get a sense and they loved you. Thank you so much for coming and taking care of our fur babies.

Emerald is the best. She is an animal lover and goes above and beyond with her pet sitting. She provides pictures and updates regularly which brings peace of mind while away. If you are looking for a responsible and kind pet sitter than Emerald is for you.

Emerald took care of my animals for 15 days earlier this year. 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 fish. She did amazing and took the dogs for daily walks sometimes a couple walks a day even though I live on property and they don’t need to. She went above and beyond for the 2+ weeks even staying over in the guest room and spending extra time with them. I was glad to have such a resource to take care of them instead of putting them all in a kennel.

Emerald has taken care of two of our much loved dogs. She actually rescued one herself, and was present when we rescued the other. She enjoyed playing with them, exercising them, and tending to their daily needs. She was especially remarkable during each of their last months of poor health. She lovingly cared for their medical needs. She has taken them to vet visits, done wound care, and diligently given them medications. I am confident she will be a reliable and loving pet care giver.

The more clear your instructions, the better I will be equipped to care for your dog as you would. If you have spacial boundaries (like no dog on the couch or bathroom breaks need to occur in a specific section of your yard) or if your dog has special needs (like medication or specialized diet), please be sure to include that information in your instructions. Please also let me know about any behaviors you're working on with your dog, so that I can look for them and provide consistency with your training. Example unwanted behaviors might include: excessive barking, leash aggression, over-excitement, dominance, nipping (at other dogs or humans), jumping, strong prey drive around specific animals (cats, squirrels, etc.), chewing anything other than desired dog bones/toys, obsessive behaviors (chasing, digging, licking, eating trash or any other undesired items, etc.), and/or going to the bathroom indoors. Please also let me know about things that make your dog feel anxious. I've had dogs who were afraid of water and who were afraid to walk on certain surfaces. Knowing your dog's triggers ahead of time will help me understand their behaviors and help me avoid putting them under any unnecessary stress.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
