I’m a certified animal lover with a fur baby of my own (Henry, 9lb of quiet sweetness) that I’ve been caring for over 10 years. I’m an MFA candidate at the Writers’ Workshop, which allows me to study from home most of the week. If I am busy on a specific day during your booking, I will let you know ahead of time so you can approve or deny the amount of hours I will be gone for that day (which usually ranges from 1-3h workshops). I have experience as a dog owner, but have also spent many of my years dog and cat sitting for my friends and family. I raised and trained my parents puppy, a Bichon Frise Shih Tzu mix who needed lots of care to control his barking and playful nature, now 6 years old and so loving. I’m experience with a range of ages and needs, including puppies and elder animals with special care needs. I love dogs, as you can tell, and have all the time in the world to watch and play with them! I prefer dogs and cats have been handled and are used to being cared for, with no history of lashing out or biting. Whether you need me to cuddle, feed, brush, walk, or play with your pup, I'm your gal. Note: while I take a combo of meds for my dander allergy and have a high tolerance, I ask that any animals/homes with animals with high shedding be appropriately groomed and cleaned before sitting. If I stay in your home, a vacuuming or light cleaning does wonders. If your fur baby is boarded in my home, a bath or deshedding session beforehand is much appreciated.

Emely was an absolute dream! She stayed at our house while traveling, as we have a 9month old cat and a dog that does not do well with being boarded. Our fussy 11 year old pup, dealing with senior issues like bad back legs clearly felt very happy and loved while we were gone, and the cat that hides from everyone? He was very comfortable and social too! In the past when we’ve returned from a trip, our dog has been very upset, but she’s been happy as can be since we returned, which is all the confirmation I need. Emely sent unprompted daily updates, and we’re truly so happy we found someone reliable for future travel. She also came to meet us all before booking and came back for a walk with our girl to make sure they got along— so accommodating and kind! Thank you, Emely!
Emely was great! We had a change with our return date and she was able to help us with it. The dogs and cat seem happy and everything in the house was so nice and clean!
I was honestly super anxious about leaving my cat AND dog with someone I didn’t know, but Emely made it so easy. She asked thoughtful questions, didn’t judge me for being a little extra lol, and even gave me photos, videos, and check in updates without me having to beg. My cat (who hates everyone) came out and sat on her lap on day 2?! Unheard of. Also her place is super cozy and clean. If you’re picky about who watches your fur babies, she’s your girl.
emely asked us to leave a testimonial from her previously caring for our old frenchie, and trust me--she is literally the only person i trust with my clingy 4-year-old baby 😭 she basically raised him as a puppy and always kept me updated with the cutest photos (henry + milo = bffs now??) whenever she sat him. she's never complained about my long list of instructions and always she also let me know ahead of time about any gigs she had to work if it was during milo's stay. milo always came home clean, tired, and in love. she will be his doggy aunty for life <3
Emely was incredibly professional, communicative, and kind. I felt totally at ease leaving our elderly lab with her for the week. She stayed at our place while we were gone and was upfront about one wedding shoot she had scheduled during our trip and made sure we were comfortable with the timing (it ended up being in line with Scout's pee schedule, so it wasn't a problem at all). She kept us updated the whole stay which made me feel more comfortable as we're more attached to Scout than he is to us haha! I came home to a clean house, a calm dog, and detailed notes about how everything went. You can tell she truly loves animals and respects your routines. Highly recommend!

Schedule
I work from home, so pet care can be a day round activity for me. If I am sitting in your home or doing check ins, I can stay or come by as frequently as needed, given availability based on any events or sessions I have previously booked.

I will always communicate with pet parents about the needs for their specific fur baby. I understand all needs are unique, so aside from common sense (walks, feedings, playing), I’ll make sure to tailor their care as needed.
Pets
A typical day
I’m a huge cuddler and generally love to give scratches and belly rubs. For physical activity, I live on a property with a small, fenced in backyard that allows the dogs to be off leash. The complex is also walkable and great for daily walks on leash. If more activity is required, I can also take them to the local dog park for social time and getting extra energy out. If your dog is anxious or has social anxiety, I can play with them indoors with their own toys or the toys we have here.
