Pet care experience

Let's make tails wag!

Animals have been a part of my life since a young age. I grew up with cats and dogs, started a dog walking business in middle school, have been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends, and have always rescued stray animals. I also volunteered at the animal shelter, providing walks and play time for the dogs. Today, I run a nonprofit that supports unhoused folks and their pets, providing basic amenities to improve their lives. This has given me even more experience caring for animals in all kinds of situations, including those that need extra patience, gentleness, or special care. I truly treat every pet like they're my own, making them feel safe, loved and happy while you're away. Pet Care Skills & Experience: -Experience with dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and personalities -Comfortable giving oral medications and caring for pets with special needs -Skilled with high-energy dogs, shy/anxious dogs, and rescue animals -Long walks, structured playtime, and plenty of snuggles (if your pet wants them!) -Reliable communication with photo/text updates so you feel at ease -Background in animal care/rescue, and nonprofit work supporting pets and their people Why choose me? I know how much your pet means to you, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it's walks, playtime, meals, or just keeping them company, I'll make sure your furry family member feels loved and cared for. I'd love to meet your pets and help keep their tails wagging (or purring) while you're away.

Emel is amazing! She’s super trustworthy, always on time, easy to communicate with, and absolutely loves dogs. She cared for my pups like they were her own and even runs a nonprofit to help homeless dogs — which shows how genuine her compassion is. I’ll definitely have her back to walk and watch my dogs again. Highly recommend!

Emel is absolutely wonderful! She has watched our three dogs multiple times, and each experience has been nothing but positive. She is incredibly trustworthy in our home and treats our dogs with so much love and care. Our pups are always so excited to see her, and it’s clear how much she genuinely enjoys being around animals. Emel is sweet, reliable, and makes us feel completely at ease knowing our dogs are in such good hands. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Safety, trust & environment

How I Care for Pets in my Home -I create a safe, pet-friendly space with plenty of room for play, rest and comfort. -Pets are welcomed as part of the family: allowed on furniture, (if you allow) and always supervised. -I keep a routine with feedings, walks, playtime, and potty breaks to help pets feel at ease. -I provide enrichment like toys, and outdoor time (if safe/fenced) to keep them happy and stimulated. -For overnight stays, i make sure pets have cozy sleeping spots and maintain their usual schedule. How I Care for Pets in your Home -I follow your instructions carefully so your pets routine stays consistent and stress free. -I respect your home, keeping it clean and secure while I care for your pets. -I provide daily walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of love and attention. -I send regular photo and text updates so you always know how your pet is doing. -I can also handle small extras, like bringing in mail, watering plants, or checking lights if you'd like.

A typical day

Overnight Schedule Your pet will be treated like part of our family from the moment they arrive. Morning We start the day with breakfast (following your pet's normal feeding schedule), followed by a bathroom walk and a morning exercise walk to help them burn off energy and start the day feeling happy and relaxed. During our walks, I always bring fresh water and a small amount of your pet's own kibble to use as training rewards. Using their regular food instead of treats helps avoid upsetting sensitive stomachs while reinforcing good behavior. Positive reinforcement also helps pets feel more confident and comfortable in their temporary home. During the Day After our morning routine, we return home where I work remotely. Your pet is never without companionship. While I'm working, my husband/partner spends time playing with, relaxing with, and giving your pet plenty of attention. Fresh water is always available, and throughout the day your pet will enjoy several short bathroom breaks and opportunities to stretch their legs. Evening Adventures After work, it's time for one of our favorite parts of the day—a longer bonding walk along one of the beautiful bike paths and trails throughout Folsom. We bring fresh water and your pet's kibble for continued positive reinforcement during the walk. These outings provide excellent physical exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of opportunities for sniffing and exploring. When we return home, everyone settles in for dinner, relaxation, and plenty of affection. Whether your dog enjoys cuddling on the couch, playing with toys, or simply relaxing nearby, we love giving them the attention and love they deserve. Bedtime When it's time to turn in for the night, we want your pet to be as comfortable as possible. They're welcome to sleep: * In bed with us (if that's what they're accustomed to) * In their own bed * In their crate We'll follow whatever sleeping arrangement they're most comfortable with and what you prefer as their owner. Our goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and at home while you're away, so they can enjoy their vacation just as much as you enjoy yours. --- Pet Sitting Schedule Our pet sitting routine follows the same level of care and attention as our boarding schedule. The primary difference is that the schedule is based on the **drop-off and pickup times** you select. Whether your pet is staying for one night or an extended visit, we'll adapt our routine around your arrival time while ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, bathroom breaks, fresh water, enrichment, positive reinforcement, affection, and companionship throughout their stay. From the moment your pet arrives, they become part of our daily routine and receive the same love, structure, and individualized care that every guest enjoys. We strive to make their stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible so they feel comfortable, safe, and right at home until it's time to reunite with you.

## Overnight Boarding & Pet Sitting Policies Overnight Boarding Rate * Standard overnight boarding is **$80 per night, per pet**. * **Holiday Rate:** Holiday bookings are charged at **double the standard nightly rate ($160 per night)**. * **Fourth of July Holiday:** Due to the intensive care required during fireworks, which often cause significant stress and anxiety for pets, the nightly rate for **July 4th** is **$200 per night**. Reservation Timing For overnight and long-term boarding, your reservation is based on the **exact drop-off time**. **Example:** * If your pet is dropped off at **12:00 PM** for a **7-night stay**, pickup is due at **12:00 PM** on the seventh day. This policy allows us to schedule arrivals, departures, cleaning, and care for all pets fairly and efficiently. Late Pickup Policy Please arrive at your scheduled pickup time. * A **30-minute grace period is not provided.** * Once your scheduled pickup time has passed, a **$50 late pickup fee is charged for every 30-minute period (or portion thereof)** until your pet is picked up. Examples: * Up to 30 minutes late: **$50** * 31–60 minutes late: **$100** * 61–90 minutes late: **$150** Late pickup fees help compensate for the additional time, staffing, and scheduling adjustments required to continue caring for your pet. Holiday Scheduling Holiday reservations are extremely limited and fill quickly. During major holidays, especially the **Fourth of July**, additional supervision is required because many dogs experience severe anxiety from fireworks. The increased holiday rate reflects the extra care, monitoring, and accommodations provided to keep pets as comfortable and safe as possible. By booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to these boarding policies and rates.
