I am a homebody: I go for walks and I love sunshine and the beach, but am otherwise I am happy keeping the house clean and occupied. I go to bed early and rise with the sun. I will not entertain or accept visitors. I am meticulously clean and pride myself on leaving spaces better than I find them. I am communicative and consistent. I have responded effeciently to several medical emergencies in both dogs and cats, and successfully resuscitated two dogs. I am very observant and spent my childhood studying veterinary texts and nature documentaries. I have noticed and responded to anything from fecal impaction to heat exhaustion to molt/shedding dysfunction and allergic reaction. I pay full attention to pets and am here to serve!

I have a lot of experience with precise care and a preference for gentle, slow friendships. I am an ideal candidate for senior dog care. I am not a trainer, and I am also quite sensitive. I cannot accept clients with problematic/traumatised barking behaviour. If your pets are family, they will be my family.
A typical day
“Fun” can look like long walks, trips to the dog park, training reinforcement, treats, gentle and patient grooming, massage, toys and play, and simply being together.

Pet care experience
Companion animals are my whole world. I began taking care of pets (my family’s as well as neighbours’) when I was 7. I am fully dialled in to animal personality and behaviour and have a joyful love and sincere appreciation for companion animals. I am an excellent choice if you have cats and/or a senior dog. I have taken care of pets with dementia, epilepsy, and paralysis. I have administered oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications; flea, worm, and mite treatments; bathing, claw trimming, and tooth brushing. I have supported both whelping and compassionate euthanasia. **I am open to island-hopping for 1mo+ sits. No car as of May 2026: access to bus-route is necessary!**

Birdy has been our go-to pet sitter for our multiple dogs and cats for two years when we leave for both short and extended periods of time. She is reliable, communicative, and provides luxurious 1:1 care for each animal. Birdy is gifted with animal attunement, which is a priority for us when choosing a pet sitter because of the array of personalities involved with our many pets. She is also amazing in emergency situations!
"Birdy" Ember took care of our Sassy for five weeks in 2023 when we travelled. She sent us photos and video updates. She is good at communicating and very reliable and she knows a lot about cat behavior. The house was spotless when we came back! We highly recommend her.
