Elvia visited my cat while I was away on vacation. There were some difficulties with timely service and providing updates/pictures. She was very pleasant to speak with and completed the job.

George was duly taken care of. But we specifically mentioned that she should not be allowed in the bedroom or on the couch. While away we received a picture of George on the couch. We also saw that George had been in the bed.

Elvia was great and even came back one day when she couldn’t get in to walk Bella.

WARNING: DO NOT HIRE ELVIA TO WATCH YOUR PETS. I wish I could award zero stars for the service I received. I hired Elvia to house sit my dog and cats while I was out of town for 8 days. Despite being told in person and in writing multiple times that my dog needed to be let out every 4-6 hours, my dog was home alone for the entire day (7.5-10 hours) for two of the first three days. I had to ask a friend to rush to go pick up my dog from my house because I didn’t know when Elvia would be returning to let my dog out. My friend kept my dog with her for 4 of the 8 days. I spoke with Elvia on the phone and explained how upset I was. She apologized and explained that a doctor’s appointment went long one day. I told her I understood, but she did not have an excuse for the other day. She simply said she thought letting him out in the morning and evening was enough. Nothing about my instructions were unclear. I told her in person twice about how often my dog needed to be let out, it’s on his care instructions through Rover, and I left handwritten instructions as well. I told her that my friend would drop my dog back off at my house only if she could assure me that she would let my dog out every 4-6 hours. She said she would absolutely let him out like we discussed. Two of the remaining days, Elvia took my dog with her and was gone the entire day. I do not know how frequently she let him go potty those days. She did tell me that she ran a bunch of errands and that my dog was a hit at the grocery store. My dog is not a service animal and obviously should not be taken to a grocery store. Finally, the second to last day, my dog was left alone again for 9.5 hours without being let out. I only know all of this information thanks to my doorbell camera. Not once did Elvia contact me in advance and tell me she was running late or there was an emergency. Each time, I had to review the camera footage and confront her. I would have never known that she neglected my dog for long periods of time without that camera. On top of being cooped up in the house for up to 10 hours alone, Elvia never took my dog for walks (except the two days she took him from the house all day). I had asked her to take him on 1-2 walks per day. To sum it all up, Elvia has no business caring for other’s pets. She does the bare minimum to keep them alive and nothing more. It will be a miracle if my dogs doesn’t develop a UTI due to infrequent potty breaks. I write this review not to seek revenge but to try to prevent this from happening to another pet owner. I was stressed every day my pets were in her care and would absolutely never recommend her services.

Elvia stayed with our 2 Bernese Mt Dogs on a Saturday night in Portland recently, while we went to a concert. She was fabulous! She took the 2 dogs for a walk along the riverfront and stayed with them and kept them happy while we were away. I highly recommend Elvia and would use her services again in a heartbeat.
