I work from home full‑time, which allows me to be fully attentive to your fur baby’s needs throughout the day. Because I’m always home, your pup will never be left alone for extended periods. My home is located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and features a spacious 1,000‑square‑foot rooftop deck with plenty of room for play and fresh air, along with two additional outdoor spaces. This setup is especially great for small dogs who enjoy safe, supervised outdoor time.

I’m flexible and open to both weekday and weekend boarding. Inside the home, there is space for a crate if needed, but pets are never confined or left unattended. Information Elly G. would like to know about your pet

To ensure the best possible stay, I ask that owners share details about their dog’s routine, personality, energy level, feeding schedule, potty habits, and any medical or behavioral needs ahead of time. This helps me provide care that feels familiar and comfortable for your pet. My home and setup are best suited for small dogs, and I have the most experience with, and preference for,Dachshunds (wiener dogs), Chihuahuas, and Jack Russell Terriers. I’m very comfortable with their unique personalities, energy levels, and care needs. If your dog does well in a calm, attentive, home‑style environment, they’re likely a great fit. Please also let me know how your dog does with new environments, stairs, outdoor spaces, and being around other small dogs, if applicable.

A typical day

Your pup’s day starts with a calm, relaxed morning at home. Since I work from home full‑time, dogs receive attention right away with a morning potty break and fresh air on the rooftop deck or one of our additional outdoor spaces. Breakfast is served according to your dog’s usual routine, followed by light play or rest while I begin my workday nearby. Midday includes regular potty breaks, playtime, and short walks to keep dogs comfortable and engaged. The 1,000‑square‑foot rooftop deck provides a safe, open space for supervised outdoor time and is especially well‑suited for small dogs who enjoy room to move and explore. Throughout the day, dogs are never left alone for extended periods and are free to relax, nap, or stay close while I work. I tailor the schedule to each dog’s personality, energy level, and needs. Evenings focus on winding down with another walk or outdoor break, dinner, and plenty of attention before settling in for the night. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and attentive home environment so every dog feels secure and cared for while you’re away.

Pet care experience

I come from a family who has always been huge dog lovers. Growing up my family always had one to two dogs in the house. I love all dogs from big to little and have a lot of experience training and living with them. I currently am the mother to two pups, Lulu, a 8y/o Jack Russell Terrier and Domino, a 5 y/o miniature dachshund. They are both full of life are used to and get along great with varying ages/sizes/shapes of animals! My experience includes taking care of varying ages and basic training all matched with lots of patience and snuggling.

Elly was great! Mochi had such a good time with her, and we loved getting daily updates while we were away. Mochi seemed so happy and comfortable, and Elly’s pups are the sweetest too. We’d definitely book with her again! 💛

Elly was amazing. It was truly a very last minute booking as I had recently moved to Chicago from Texas. She took good care of Ricky while I was gone. She was always in contact with pictures of Ricky while I was gone. I will be taking Ricky from now on every time I need someone to take care of my little one. Thank you Elly, I appreciate you!

Elly took extremely great care of Mila while I was away for a long weekend. I was provided picture updates frequently, and Mila seemed to adjust quickly. She was enjoying herself and had a great time! I felt very comfortable leaving Mila with Elly for the weekend and would absolutely recommend Elly's services.
