Highlights
Pet care experience
Veterinarian with expert pet care
I’m a veterinarian with over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all ages and needs. I studied at the University of Florida and went on to complete a rotating specialty internship at Cornell, where I gained advanced training in emergency and specialty care. I’m currently in an ophthalmology specialty training program, so I’m especially attentive to subtle changes in pets’ comfort, vision, and overall health. I truly love working with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a senior dog needing a little extra patience, or a pet with medical needs, I provide thoughtful, attentive, and safe care. I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring ongoing conditions, and recognizing early signs of illness-giving you extra peace of mind while you’re away. I understand how important trust is when it comes to your pets, and I’m committed to clear communication, reliability, and making sure your pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for at all times.

Ratings and reviews
Came for a meet and greet where I discussed the booking (house sitting in my home) for a single night stay. Designated the room where he could sleep and let him know there would be fresh sheets, the different streaming services and WiFi information for the stay here. Specifically did not book a drop in visit as when I’m not home my Dog needs to be in her crate. At the start of the visit time he showed up and let my dog out and fed her and my cats dinner. Unknown to me at the time he then put my dog in her crate and left her. Three hours later I looked at the exterior property cameras I have and noticed there was no car at my home so I messaged asking where he was and why my dog was in her crate. Was told that any house sitting visit he had prior that staying at the house was optional, but if I was more comfortable with him staying there he would. Showed up 1hr later and instead of staying at my home let my dog out of her crate and then left the property. At this point I was watching closely the comings and goings of the driveway and knew my dog was alone and out in my house which went against verbal and written instructions for leaving my dog with a complete disregard for her safety. I tried messaging and calling for two hours with no response from Ellis. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Ellis took care of our house with 2 dogs and 2 cats for a week, including one very high energy dog. He did a great job. Thanks!

Great sitter! Would highly recommend to anyone for their fur babies

Ellis was great! Communicated well and gave plenty of updates. Would highly recommend booking with him!

Ellis was an excellent sitter, he was very professional and kept me updated with photos/etc while he cared for my pup. He is also a veterinarian which gave me great peace of mind. I would 10/10 recommend him to anyone!

I highly recommend Ellis on Rover—he’s reliable, easy to work with, and great with animals. What really sets him apart is his background and education in veterinary medicine, which gives an added level of confidence knowing he understands pet health and can handle situations if something comes up. He’s attentive, communicates well, and takes the job seriously. If you’re looking for someone you can trust to take good care of your pet, he’s a solid choice.
Calendar and availability
Schedule
I work full-time as a veterinary ophthalmology specialty trainee from 8am–5pm on weekdays. Outside of those hours, I’m fully available and very attentive to the pets in my care. I’m available for evenings, overnight stays, and weekends, and I’m happy to provide consistent care for multi-day bookings. Because of my veterinary background and over 10 years of experience, I’m comfortable managing pets with a wide range of needs and ensuring they’re closely monitored when I’m with them.
