Safe, reliable, and loving
As a child, I was the neighborhood pet sitter. As an adult, I have vast experience caring for animals. For 25 years, I did pet sitting and house sitting in the Boston area before moving to Puerto Rico 13 years ago. The first month I lived there, I found a box of kittens in the road. I have been a rescuer since, being one of few who take on the most challenging cases. I have saved hundreds, if not thousands, of dogs and cats over the years and I have seen it all. Nothing intimidates me or grosses me out. I will give baths, dispense medications, clean up accidents, whatever is needed. I am 58 years old and am very reliable and trustworthy.

Ellen took care of my dog for 3 weeks while I was out of the country and she took good care of him. She stayed and played with him for hours at a time and kept me updated the whole while. When I came back, my dog didn't want her to leave.
Ellen is amazing with animals of all kinds. She’s cared for my very demanding spoiled dog, and rescues who needed to build trust and had serious medical needs (heart disease, ear defects, amputations, spinal injuries). She is dependable, and will treat your pet and home with respect. Very communicative, you’ll get lots of reassuring updates, and she won’t think you’re crazy for checking in a lot. Most importantly she has the experience to make good decisions in an emergency which always puts my mind at ease.

Schedule
I am 58 years old and do not work anymore so my availability is wide open. I do sometimes go to Puerto Rico where I am in the process of selling my home but the dates for those trips are flexible.

Safety, trust & environment
I generally find that caring for pets in their own home is ideal as they really do appreciate routine, stability, and a familiar environment. However, I am certainly willing to care for them in my home as well and offer a fully fenced in back yard for dogs. There is an 11 lb dog at my house but he is used to cats and dogs coming and going so he should not pose a problem (or I can separate them, if preferred). In terms of routine, I am willing to adapt to whatever you have established and have no problem with giving medications, baths, or any other special care needed. With 13 years of rescuing in Puerto Rico and 25 years of pet care before that, I have seen it all (and nothing grosses me out!). If you like frequent updates and photos, no problem. If you like to relax and not think about home when you are away, no problem. Your beloved pets are in safe, loving hands.
