Ellen was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Xena! She was so sweet and patient, making sure Xena got her medicine on time and stuck to her food and bathroom schedule. Ellen treated her like one of her own, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She also sent frequent updates and pictures throughout the day, which we really appreciated. Her dog, Dot, is just as sweet as she is and got along perfectly with Xena. We highly recommend Ellen to anyone looking for a loving and reliable dog sitter!

I have known Ellen and her sweet Dot, a very happy and healthy special needs pup, for years. I can say with confidence that Ellen's love, ever-growing experience, and dedication to Dot - especially where her health and well being are concerned - are an inspiration. What I have noticed with Ellen is not just her special attachment to Dot, but her keen observations of and love for other pups (my own included!). She is such a caring person, and noticed immediately my Banjo's anxiety and his (incredibly quick!) relaxed state when he met her for the first time. She gave him the time and space he needed to feel at ease without my needing to explain his special needs. I would recommend Ellen to anyone and their four legged family member. She is a responsible, loving, and caring friend to all pups (and their humans, too!).

Schedule
I work from home on Fridays, so I am available for boarding for long weekends. We could coordinate a Thursday evening drop-off if need be. On the weekends, I go to a pilates class and run errands, but am otherwise around as company for the dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
My yard is only partially fenced, so I will be taking the dogs on leashed walks. Dottie sleeps in bed with me, so it’s okay if your pup needs to as well. If your dog is crate-trained, that is okay too.
Pets
A typical day
New Jersey is such a great place for outdoor walks and gentle hikes. If your dog is up for that and the weather is good, I would prioritize getting them outside for some good sniffing and exercise.
