Certified in American Red Cross Pet CPR and First Aid. Now with more availability during the daytime for lunch walks or drop-ins! During the week housesitting now available! I've owned pets all my life, and have been responsible for caring for my own pets since I was in middle school. I am especially experienced with cats, but am happy to take care of any and all pets! I was in charge of cat care for at an animal rescue in Peru where I stayed for 6 weeks, as well as volunteered at an all cat shelter in Santiago, Chile for 2 weeks. I have also done volunteering with cat care at various animal shelters here in the US. I currently volunteer locally as a Cat Companion and adoption specialist at the Capital Humane Society. Although my focus has been cats, I am comfortable working with all animals, as animal shelters need help in all places! I have taken cat behavior courses and am specially trained to know how to communicate with and understand cat behavior. One of my greatest joys is being able to earn the trust of a cat! In addition to caring for cats, senior pets of all shapes and sizes hold a special place in my heart. I want to help make their 'autumn and winter' the best years of their life. I currently own 2 cats but have both owned and lived with dogs in the past. I have some experience in caring for other animals including turtles, rabbits, hedgehogs, birds, and fish. I will follow all of your instructions on how best to take care of your pets and your space - you know them best! Leaving a space cleaner than I found it is important to me - I will do my best to respect your space as if it is my own.

Safety, trust & environment
When I am with a pet they are my main focus, all of my attention is on them and their well being. During drop ins I make sure to check on their daily habits (eating/drinking, litter box/outside business, etc) as well as their behavior while they are with me and report all of the information to the owner.

Ella did a great job watching my cat, Finn. And though she was never able to coax him out from under the bed for a daily picture she sent to me, he looked relaxed under there... as opposed to the "petrified" face that he normally has around non-family members. 😂 Ella did everything that was asked of her, and even went above and beyond that- I have no reservations in recommending her for your pet!!!
I’ve had Ella care for my cats while on vacation a few times and I got wonderful updates with the most adorable photos. They were well cared for, just as I would have done myself. This time I needed help with my elderly Labrador. I had a shoulder replacement and am unable to walk her. Ella to the rescue, she was able to walk her early mornings before the heat. Emma looks forward to her arrival by waiting at the window for her, that’s a clear sign that it’s a match. Thank you Ella!
Ella took great care of my cat while I was away and was extremely flexible and accommodating when I needed to add two unexpected drop-ins. She clearly cares about the pets she is watching!
