Experienced & Loving Pet Care
Hello! My name is Ella, and I recently moved back to Wausau after graduating from college in Montana. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Natural Horsemanship, a horse-training method focused on understanding animal behavior and building a relationship based on communication and trust. My degree also included coursework in animal health, animal husbandry, and classes taught by both large- and small-animal veterinarians. My Fiancé, Cooper, also earned a degree in Natural Horsemanship with a minor in ranch management. Like me, he has spent much of his life around animals and is comfortable caring for a variety of pets and following specific care instructions. I grew up on a hobby farm and have had horses nearly my entire life. Dogs have always been part of the family, too—we’ve had everything from Labs and bird dogs to little Jack Russells! I currently have an energetic Blue Heeler who loves joining me on horseback rides and hikes. I’ve also grown up caring for a wide variety of animals, including parrots, dogs, cats, horses, fish, and even a squirrel! This experience has taught me that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs. I started my own dog-sitting business in high school and continued pet sitting throughout college in Montana. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, and fish, and I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and maintaining your pet’s normal routine while you’re away. I am also comfortable administering medications and providing specialized care when needed. Just let me know what your pet needs, and I’ll do my best to make it happen! My goal isn’t just to make sure your pet is fed and cared for—it’s to make sure they are happy, comfortable, safe, and enjoying their time while you’re away. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your weekend or vacation knowing your animals are in good hands. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry (or feathered!) family members!

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable when they can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and individual needs while treating your home with the same care and respect I would my own. Before each booking, I like to learn about your pet’s normal routine, personality, feeding schedule, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions. I follow those routines as closely as possible so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible while you’re away. I am attentive to safety and make sure doors, gates, crates, and other areas are secure, and I’m careful to follow any instructions regarding your pet’s access to the home or yard. I’m also comfortable administering medications and providing additional care when needed. I want you to feel completely comfortable while you’re away, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, happy, and cared for—and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.
Ratings and reviews
Ella took care of my eclectic pet group which inlcuded a Pyerenese, one cat, one blind and diabetic rat terrier and a second rat terrier with boundless energy. Ella was responsible, responsive and kept me in the loop with any need any of the pets had from more treats to just letting me know how they were getting along. Having a dependable house and pet sitter means the world when you are out of town for work, a trip or unexpectedly and Ella was dependable, responsible and reliable.
Ella has a remarkable connection with dogs. She has always enjoyed caring for their family dogs and does so independently and responsibly. Ella is the first one to volunteer to walk a friends' dog just for the fun of doing so. Her family would support her desire to care for a dog at their home. I think she would make an excellent Rover dog sitter.
Ella would make the perfect candidate for watching your dog. First off, she is very responsible, and would take very good care of your dog. She has several animals of her own, and they are all very well taken care of! Second of all, she has a very big heart for animals, and she would treat your dog like they were family for the few days that she is taking care of it. Ella is also very active, and would do a good job of making sure your fur baby got a good amount of exercise. On top of all this, Ella is very easy to work with, and which makes it easy to set up drop off and pick up times. Ella has taken care of a huge variety of different dogs, and does an amazing job with all of them!
