Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with three Labradors and have continued to care for dogs belonging to family, friends and neighbours. I’ve looked after my neighbour’s Golden Retriever for weekends and longer holidays, as well as my friend’s Collie, who I loved taking on long walks. I’ve also cared for my brother’s puppy from just 14 weeks old, so I’m comfortable with the energy and needs of younger dogs I’ve also had experience caring for my grandad’s elderly Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which taught me how important patience, gentleness and adapting to an older dog’s needs can be. I previously worked as a receptionist at a part time veterinary practice, which gave me lots of experience around animals and a good understanding of how important their health and wellbeing are. I’ve cared for my own dog when they were unwell, including giving eye drops, wrapping bandages and helping with training. I’d love to have a dog of my own, but at the moment I’m not able to make the full-time commitment that comes with owning one. Pet sitting gives me the perfect opportunity to enjoy having dogs around and give them the love, attention and care I would give my own. I’d treat every dog as part of the family and make sure they feel happy, safe and completely at home while they’re with me.
