Safety, trust & environment
My priority is making your pet feel safe, understood, and comfortable in their own space. I will follow your requested routine closely (i.e., feeding, walks, medications, training cues, and comfort rituals), so your pet experiences consistency and calm. With 35+ years of caring for animals of all sizes and temperaments, I take a patient, gentle approach. I’m experienced with seniors, pets with medical needs (including giving insulin injections), reactive dogs, and strong breeds, so I adjust my handling to what each animal needs to feel secure. If your pet enjoys training sessions, I’m happy to reinforce recall, foundations, and reactivity work using positive methods I’ve learned through working with my own dog, Aero, and our training community. I provide affection, enrichment, and quiet companionship, always reading your pet's body language and moving at their pace. You can expect regular updates, photos, and honest communication, so that you can feel as comfortable as your pet does.
Information Elke G. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to me that I have a clear understanding of your pet’s needs, routines, and preferences before we begin. I’m very open and responsive to communication, and I follow instructions and schedules closely, I know how essential consistency is for your pet’s comfort and well-being. My goal is always to care for your pet with the same attention, love, and respect that I give my own.
A typical day
With every pet I watch, I love creating fun, meaningful activities tailored to their energy and personality. We’ll enjoy plenty of neighborhood walks with lots of time to sniff—because sniffing is great enrichment and helps dogs feel confident and relaxed. If your pup enjoys adventure, we can head out for hikes, park visits, or a game of fetch to burn off energy and keep things exciting.

Your Pet’s New Favourite Friend
Pet care experience
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and I’ve spent more than 35 years caring for pets of all sizes. Over the years I’ve supported elderly cats, pets with medical needs like diabetes (insulin injections), reactive dogs, and muscle breeds who just need a calm, confident presence. My own dog, Aero, and I have been on a reactivity journey together, and with patience, consistency, and guidance from a professional trainer, she’s made incredible progress. We’re part of a training community that meets every weekend for recall practice, reactivity work, and foundational skills. Everything I learn with Aero helps me support the animals I care for. I’m about to complete my pet first aid certification, and I’m confident that the experience and skills I’ve built over the decades will help your pets feel safe, understood, and truly cared for. Your animals will be treated like my own, with patience, love, and respect.

Reviews

Elke did a wonderful job checking in, and giving insulin for our kitties. They will be very happy to see her again next time we need her!

Elke did a great job with my guys insulin shots. Will definitely use again.
Elke has been absolutely amazing with my dog Benny, who can definitely be a handful at times. She handles his attitude and strength with ease! Benny absolutely loves her and gets so excited every time he sees her, which says everything! I completely trust her with my fur baby, and feel so comfortable knowing he’s in such good hands. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and genuinely great with dogs, I can’t recommend Elke enough!
Elke has loved animals for as long as I have known her. She has had horses, dogs, cats and a rabbit. In every case, Elke has been a caring and responsible caregiver to these pets. Currently she is a very doting Dog Mom to her dog Aero. Elke has spend many years with my dogs and has invested a lot of time learning about best practices when it comes to animal care and welfare. If you are looking for a responsible caregiver, look no further Elke is there for you!
