Safety, trust & environment

I always care for pets the way I do my own — with patience, structure, and lots of love. In your home, I make sure to follow your routine closely so your pets feel secure and comfortable. I keep things clean, double-check doors and leashes, and make sure everyone gets the right mix of play, exercise, and rest. Whether it’s a shy cat or a high-energy pup, I take time to understand their personality and build trust so they feel completely at ease while you’re away.

Information Elizabeth S. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for a pet, it’s important for me to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, and any medical or dietary needs. I also like to understand their personality, energy level, and any triggers or fears so I can tailor my approach and make them as comfortable as possible. For dogs, helpful details include leash manners, recall reliability, training cues they respond to, and how they interact with other dogs or people. For cats, I appreciate knowing their preferred hiding spots, play style, and how they typically show affection or stress. I also ask about house rules, favorite toys or treats, and any behaviors you’re currently working on so I can stay consistent with your training. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can provide care that feels familiar, safe, and stress-free for your pet.

A typical day

A typical day with me is built around structure, enrichment, and plenty of love. We start with a calm morning routine — potty breaks, walks, or check-ins, followed by breakfast and a little one-on-one attention. Throughout the day, I focus on keeping pets mentally and physically engaged while still respecting their individual needs and comfort levels. For dogs, that can include long walks, structured play, enrichment games, basic training reinforcement, or relaxed outdoor time depending on their energy level. High-energy pups get opportunities to burn off energy in a healthy way, while more laid-back or anxious dogs get a slower pace and extra reassurance. For cats, I tailor care to their personality — play sessions with toys and enrichment, window time, brushing, or simply sitting nearby for companionship if that’s what they prefer. I’m especially mindful of routine and comfort for timid or senior pets. No matter the species, I make sure every pet gets personalized attention, a predictable routine, and lots of affection. My goal is for your pet to feel comfortable, safe, and happy — not just “watched,” but genuinely cared for.

Pet care experience

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’m heavily involved in volunteering and fostering with local rescues and shelters, with a special love for herding breeds and cats. My own dog is a Rough Collie who actively competes in dog sports and is currently working toward multiple titles. Training and enrichment are a big part of my everyday life, and I regularly work with high-energy working breed fosters in my home. Whether it’s walks, training sessions, dog sports, playtime, or down time, caring for animals is truly what I love most. Genuinely… like it’s my full-time job outside of my full-time job.

Libby is a fantastic pet sitter (and owner). She has been fostering both cats and dogs for over five years and always gives the foster pets the best care possible. She is very knowledgeable about pets and understands animal temperaments very well. I would trust her to care for my two cats anytime it is needed. She’s very reliable and kind.

If I could have Libby babysit my dog daily, I would. We keep Libby on our rotation when we go out of town and every time, Pippa gets so much love and affection from Libby. Pippa is relatively independent, so we don't need too much done, but Libby is so loving to every animal she interacts with. 10/10 would recommend every time!
