Home Away From Home 4 Your Dog

I’ve had dogs my entire life and truly enjoy caring for them. As a college freshman, I raised and trained two Boxer puppies, giving me firsthand experience with puppy training, routines, and socialization. I also cared for a Bernedoodle adopted from a shelter, which gave me valuable experience helping a rescue dog adjust to a home environment and establish a routine. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes—from 5-pound companions to giant breeds—so I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s unique personality and needs. Your dog will stay in my home with a securely fenced yard, plenty of attention, exercise, and lots of love. I understand that every dog is part of the family, and I’ll care for yours as if they were my own.

We had a wonderful experience with Elizabeth caring for our two dogs. She was reliable, attentive, and kept us updated with timely messages and lots of great photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that both dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We would 100% recommend Elizabeth and would absolutely have her watch our dogs again!

5/5 Stars — Absolutely Wonderful Experience! Elizabeth recently watched our two dogs, Linus and Gypsy, for a full week, and we couldn't be happier with the care she provided. Managing our duo is no small feat because they have completely opposite needs: Gypsy is a 16-year-old senior who is just 6 pounds and needs gentle, delicate care, while Linus is a big 70-pound dog with tons of energy who requires plenty of active exercise and play. Elizabeth handled their contrasting personalities and physical requirements with total professionalism and warmth. When we picked them up, both dogs were healthy, relaxed, and clearly very happy. It gave us complete peace of mind during our time away knowing they were in such capable hands. We would definitely use Elizabeth again for dog boarding and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring dog sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

I provide boarding exclusively in my own home, where your dog will have a safe, calm, and comfortable environment. I do not have any resident dogs, allowing me to focus on your pet’s individual needs and provide personalized attention. My home has a securely fenced yard for supervised outdoor play, exercise, and potty breaks. I’ll follow your dog’s regular routine as closely as possible—including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and plenty of playtime, affection, and rest—so they feel at home while you’re away. For dogs that are fully house trained- I am able to leave them loose in my home and for dogs that may scratch doors, chew molding etc. I have a dog suite that can be used instead of a crate with a gate instead of a door to give them their own space without being confined to a crate. If a dog is crate trained and that is the owners preference that can also be accommodated. For the majority of the time the dogs stay with me in my main living/kitchen area and also get to enjoy a large fenced yard when the weather is nice for sunbathing and play!

A typical day

I have a large fenced yard and the dogs are able to come in/out as they please to play and when the weather allows I set up the pool for them to engage in water play. The side yard also allows for ball playing! A typical day would begin with a early morning run/walk depending on the dog's needs and then breakfast. If medicine is needed this is usually when I give it to them (if that is the schedule provided). The dogs usually stay in the kitchen and main living room area where there is a glass door that leads to the deck and outdoor space. The dogs are able to get some fresh air and play around in the morning while their food digests. Then they go on a walk. I usually take them to Palmer Square, Humboldt Park, or the 606 Trail down the block. After a walk/exercise the dogs have some relaxing time in our common space, drink some water and most of the time is is when they choose to snooze for a little. The rest of the day is outdoor play/water play or indoor play with a total of 3-4 walks a day. During the night time the dogs are able to stay in the common area or with me depending on their needs. I also do have a dog suite where they are able to stay crate free if they need a more secluded space if not house trained yet.
