Libby was very helpful meeting and settling Plum in. She kept us very well updated and since our return from holiday, Plum has been very calm and settled quickly. She seems to have had a happy week.

A typical day

🌅 Morning Routine • Wake-up and greetings: Start the day with lots of affection and calm energy so the dogs feel secure and happy. • Morning walk: A good 30–60 minute walk to stretch their legs, sniff around, and burn some energy. This is the best time for an energetic play session or exploring nature trails if available. • Breakfast & hydration: Fresh water and a nutritious meal suited to each dog’s diet. Some dogs may need supplements or medication. ⸻ ☀️ Midday Care • Potty breaks: Quick outside trips to keep them comfortable and maintain house training. • Enrichment & play: Activities like fetch, tug-of-war, puzzle toys, or training exercises to keep their minds sharp. • Socialization: If safe and appropriate, allow the dogs to meet other friendly dogs or people to build confidence and reduce stress. • Cuddle/quiet time: Some dogs love a nap near their human, giving them security and balance after activity. ⸻ 🌳 Afternoon Adventure • The “best walk”: A longer, stimulating outing. This could be: • A woodland trail with lots of smells • A park where they can run and explore • A beach walk if available • Or an urban stroll with plenty of new sights and sounds Walks are tailored to each dog’s age, breed, and energy level, ensuring they’re physically tired but not overexerted. ⸻ 🌆 Evening Wind-Down • Dinner time: Fresh water topped up, evening meal given at a consistent time. • Gentle walk/potty break: A shorter, calming stroll to settle them before bedtime. • Bonding time: Grooming (brushing coats, cleaning paws, checking ears/teeth) and giving affection to strengthen trust and keep them healthy. ⸻ 🌙 Nighttime • Comfortable sleeping space: Fresh bedding, cozy blankets, or their own crate if that’s their routine. • Final checks: Ensure water is available, they’ve had a final potty break, and they feel safe and calm before bed. ⸻ ✅ Throughout the day, the focus is always on: • Safety (leads, secure areas, watching for hazards) • Physical exercise (walks/play suited to their needs) • Mental stimulation (training, sniffing, exploring) • Emotional care (affection, routine, calm reassurance)
