Pet care experience

Hey, can I pet your dog?

I've always loved animals - I grew up around them on a small farm, took a couple years of animal science schooling, and currently volunteer on the Canine Enrichment team at a local shelter. Throughout these experiences, I've helped care for all kinds of animals with all types of needs. I'm no stranger to administering medications, helping dogs settle down, and knowing when a puppy "needs to go." While my life used to be an abundance of animals, now I just live with my sweet little kitty, Chef Mac. So, don't hesitate to reach out - I have plenty of space in my home and my heart for your pet! 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒐𝒓: → 🐶🐱 The Usual - Dogs, Cats → 🐹🐁🐰 Lil Fuzzy Guys - Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Rats, Ferrets, Chinchillas, Rabbits → 🐴🐔🐐 Barnyard Animals - Horses, Chickens, Goats → 🦎🐍 Scaly Friends - Bearded Dragons, Geckos, Snakes By the way, I love taking pictures and writing as a hobby. So, you'll be getting a lot of informative, photo-rich updates! 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝑨𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 "𝙸'𝚖 𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎!" Send the request anyway! I tell Rover I'm willing to drive 15 minutes. We all live in Boston, right? So we know 15 minutes is kind of a vibe. If you're in the Boston Metro or North Shore area, we can probably make it work. "𝙸 𝚍𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚊 𝚌𝚊𝚛!" I do! Just let me know and I can likely do pickup and drop-off. The number I put in my profile is a general estimate. I'll look at how much gas it will take to reach you, plus time, then I'll send you a quote. It'll probably be cheaper than ridesharing! 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 I am in the process of becoming Fear Free Certified and just enrolled in dog training classes. With your permission, I'd love to practice what I'm learning!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

- Before the appointment, we will align on expectations and your pet's daily needs. This will help us maintain a consistent routine and minimize stress to your pet. If any items seem challenging to fulfill, I'll proactively inform you of that. - If your pet will be visiting my home, they must tolerate cats. All boarding appointments will have a free Meet and Greet so we can screen for prey drive to ensure the safety of both animals. - If you're booking a boarding appointment for one dog, I might accept a boarding appointment for a second dog from a different family that is a similar size. If you'd like exclusive access to the house, please say so! - If you're booking for a cat, we will not book a new dog at the time that you reserve without your express permission. They will only stay with other cats and small animals. - While my yard is technically fenced, your dog will always be leashed and taken on walks for their safety.

Elizabeth was a great dog sitter for our Lexi. She shared photos and information daily and also demonstrated empathy and good humor with our quirky dog! I highly recommend Elizabeth if you want a sitter who dedicates herself fully to your pet.

This was my first and absolute last time ever using Rover. DO NOT HIRE FOR HOUSE-SITTING. I had one of the worst experiences imaginable, despite trying my hardest to prepare. I provided a resource document, left plenty of space for questions, and did everything to set Liz up for success. I was already extremely anxious since this was the first time leaving my dog with someone in over a year and a half. The service failed me completely, forcing me to leave in the middle of a business trip, costing my company over $650 to fly me back home early because Liz decided her car mattered more than my dog's safety. I hired her for a two-day housesitting job and explicitly specified that I needed someone to stay at the apartment with my dog and sleep there at night because of my anxiety. However, I quickly discovered that Liz was far more preoccupied with fulfilling jobs for her other clients than honoring the commitment she made to me and my dog. I specifically told her multiple times not to drive or park at my complex due to strict rules, but she insisted and made the risky choice on her own to park on site anyway. When her car inevitably got towed after I warned her, she refused to take continue the job and put my dog in danger. Instead of prioritizing the safety and livelihood of the dog she was paid to care for, her main concern was the cost of the tow and what was happening outside of the job I hired her for. I will never trust her again. Do not hire or schedule Liz to housesit specifically. She completely lacks an understanding of professional expectations and job importance it entails and showed major signs of immaturity in the way she handled this situation. Upon finding out she got towed I offered her to use my car, someone I didn’t even know, I vemoed her 100$ towards the tow and she repays me by cancelleing her job in the middle of it and with zero care lined up and zero family who could stay with her that night I had to leave my work event I helped plan for over a year for. It absolutely breaks my heart to do this kind of review because I poured my heart out explaining how crucial it was to care for my dog, a beloved member of my family and she cared more about a towed vehicle. I am putting this review out there because I do not want this to happen to someone else and no one should trust her with their pets, especially for housesitting. Despite multiple warnings and a dedicated space to ask questions, she never once mentioned that car accessibility was her top priority or that she intended to come and go as she pleased. Every single conversation I had with Liz emphasized keeping my dog safe, and she failed entirely. This company and service failed me. Do not use this person; she is immature, untrustworthy, and takes zero responsibility for your pet while you are miles away on a business trip.

Elizabeth was so great to Triple M while I was out of town for a bit. I received regular updates and we even added an extra day visit when the heat unexpectedly shot up while I was away. I’d rehire Elizabeth to watch him again in a heartbeat.

Elizabeth was even better than I ever could’ve hoped for in finding someone to take care of our dear Mr. Monkey. She obviously loves animals and takes care in making sure that they are comfortable and well adjusted and did a great job of keeping me updated on how Monkey was doing while we were gone. She was so careful about how he got along with any other animals in her house at the time and I can just tell how thoughtful and caring she is. I will be so happy to leave Monkey with her again! Highly recommended!!! I only wish I could’ve given her more stars.

Schedule

I work freelance from home - so I have tons of flexibility to work around your pet's schedule (or, your hectic schedule!). Just a few exceptions: -> I volunteer once a week at the animal shelter on Mondays from 12 to 2. This is the only hard-and-fast time that I need to be out of the home. -> I do run a morning route with other animals. This means your pet will be alone for between one to four hours per day. Otherwise, there is almost always someone in the house. -> Sundays and Mondays are marked as unavailable for default on my calendar, but that's just because I can't help during midday. I have evenings available, though! Current special availability below: 𝚂𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚢𝚜 - 𝙰𝚟𝚊𝚒𝚕𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚊𝚏𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝟼𝚙𝚖 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚢𝚜 - 𝙰𝚟𝚊𝚒𝚕𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚊𝚏𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝟹𝚙𝚖

Some questions I'll likely ask at our meet and greet for a dog: - Has your dog met a cat before? How did they react? - Is your dog crate trained? - What time does your dog usually eat? - Do you take your dog on walks at a consistent time? If so, what time? - Can your dog comfortably hold their bladder overnight? - Are there any commands or behaviors you're working on? How can I help maintain your existing training regimen? - Does your dog like cars and/or are you comfortable with me bringing them on a field trip? - Verifying emergency contact information - Verifying veterinarian information There are no wrong answers to any of these questions and answering as honestly as possible will help me give your dog the most comfortable stay possible. For cats, we will just chat about your pet's preferences and see if there are any adjustments we need to make to the home to help them have a comfortable stay. We'll cover all this and more during our meet and greet!
