Availability
I work full time but have weekends off. Typically I am available after work to check on your animals, either to provide care or to take them for a walk. Depending on the day, I may be available in the morning to swing by your home to feed and/or let your pet outside to use the restroom. Since my work schedule varies we’ll just have to talk about it once you reach out! I’d love to develop long term relationships with clients that allow me to assist them in some way on a weekly basis but also am flexible to care for your animals for weekend getaways, etc!

I would prefer to watch your pet at your house where they are comfortable and in a familiar environment. I’m happy to stop by and provide them everything they need, including one on one time so they don’t get lonely while you are away! Safety is important to me and I am very cautious when entering or exiting a home as to make sure all pets are accounted for and don’t slip out the house - you can thank my many years of being a zookeeper for this trait! I am very detailed oriented and good at following even the most detailed directions. As a zookeeper, I’m very good at reading animal behavior so you can trust that if I’m on a walk with your pet that I can respond appropriately to any stresses or changes in their behavior.

A typical day
I love to spend time with animals so you can be assured that I will give your pet plenty of one on one time when I am with them. Walks can be brisk for those high energy dogs or laid back if your pet is a senior. If they have a favorite toy I want to know so that we can play while you are gone!

Caring for your “zoo” at home!
Pet care experience
I’ve been a zookeeper for the past 16 years so have professional experience caring for a wide variety of animals - from giraffe to big cats to everything in between!! I’ve been a dog owner since college and as a child we always had dogs. In high school I used to care for and show horses and owned my own horse for fours years before moving off to college. Needless to say my experience spans from dogs and cats to exotic animals and livestock and even some reptiles!! I’m very experienced in animal training and also administering medication. And I definitely don’t shy away from the not so pretty side of animal care (like picking up poop or dealing with messes)!
