I have always had dogs in my life. I grew up on a farm and we had Goldens, Labs, and Great Pyrenees. I am no stranger to big dogs but I also love the little pups. In high school I volunteered at a Greyhound rescue. I would walk, feed and play with the pups as well as clean out their crates and their play yard. Two summers ago I had a babysitting and dog sitting job where I spent Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM with the child and the dog. I balanced the care of both the kid and the puppy, fed both and gave the dog walks. My most recent job was at Pet Wants Charlotte. To work there you're basically required to have a passion for animals. I went through extensive training and education in pet behavior and nutrition. I loved working there because we got to see pups everyday in the store and I felt very confident in my recommendations. I loved when a customer would come in with questions because I was able to exercise my knowledge and it was so rewarding for them to come back and tell me how much my recommendation helped them or how much their dog loved the food/product. Currently I am in school, so I can't have a dog but my roommates have two cats.
