Pet care experience

I love your fur babies!

I was the primary caretaker of our family dog since I was 14, and successfully put her through 4-H training for multiple years. I got her through her end of life care and have experience dealing with senior animals who need medication or assistance eating and moving. I've also been a member of plenty dog washes and pet-sat with assistance before, so I have some experience with animals under stress. I love dogs a lot, and I adore even the grouchiest and quirkiest of critters.

Safety, trust & environment

I don't board pets, but I'm capable of taking detailed instructions for how you want things done in your own home. It's your animal and your house, you know best how to care for them and I want to respect that as much as possible. I generally try to leave as little mark on the homes I enter as possible while still giving the animal the care it provides.

Elizabeth did a great job walking Teddy. She offered to have a meet and greet which was quite helpful prior to working with Teddy. Teddy is looking forward to his next walk.

Elizabeth did a great job! She did exactly what we asked her. She spent time with our dogs and got close with them. They really liked her. Highly recommend.

Our family moved from Wyoming to Pennsylvania in two waves. My wife went first with some family. Beth (17 years old at the time) and I remained behind in Wyoming with a pit bull named Ivy. Ivy belonged to our son’s girlfriend, who was part of the first wave of movers. Beth didn’t just agree to help take care of Ivy; Beth appointed herself as the caretaker of Ivy. Up to this point, Beth had been respectful of the ownership of Ivy belonging to the live-in girlfriend, and had provided no less or no more attention to Ivy than she did of the live-in girlfriend. Once the move began, Ivy was invited to sleep in Beth’s bedroom. Prior to that, Beth’s room had been typical teenager shambles. But to ensure the safety of Ivy, the room was now a perfect picture of order, with all dangers out of the way. Beyond just walks around the neighborhood, Beth took Ivy to a park in our mountain town where Ivy could explore the underbrush. She also took Ivy on hikes in the canyon. During one neighborhood walk, Ivy laid down on the side of the road, panting, but not showing any real distress. But Ivy clearly did not want to get up. Beth gave Ivy some time, kept a close eye on her, and called for back-up to make sure Ivy wasn’t in some sort of trouble she couldn’t see. After being checked by a second person, Ivy got up and completed the neighborhood walk home. That evening, Beth scoured the internet trying to find out what might have been wrong. She discovered that Ivy was merely expressing how much she enjoyed being out with Beth, and didn’t want to come home yet, so she laid down to plead her case for a longer walk. The next time Beth only had time for a neighborhood walk, Ivy tried again, but this time Beth was savvy enough to see the sign, and gentle enough to get Ivy going again. I prefer to be a non-pet owner, but defer to my wife and family. Over the 2 months, Beth’s care of Ivy was as thorough and effective as my wife’s care was for our own dog. My involvement was minimal, but I could clearly see that Ivy was happy and healthy during her separation from our son’s girlfriend, as Beth was such a careful caretaker.
