Safety, trust & environment
I find it best to keep to the schedule/routine the pet parents have established. I have always used positive reinforcement methods or distraction/removal techniques with my own dogs. My dog friendly building is near several parks and has an enclosed courtyard and large atrium, in addition to a doggy play area. My apartment gets lots of daytime light for sunbeam drenched naps. I have plenty of experience with older dogs as well, and have no problem with most medical needs. I lost my fur baby in March, and will treat yours with all the love and attention I gave her—special meals when her bowels were problematic, diapers when dementia meant she forgot to tell me she needed outside, and weekly pampering sessions complete with doggy massage. No cats.

Information Elizabeth H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any allergies or specific fears (and how you anticipate/handle their panic attacks). Any information you can share about their usual behavior is appreciated—for example, do they always look for corners to lie down in or does that mean they’re upset/afraid?
A typical day
Hill East offers a lot of great dog walks—the Congressional Cemetery, the Fields at RFK, and Kingman/Herotage Islands are all nearby! I also have a vehicle and like to go urban hiking at the arboretum. Or If your dog is more of a layabout, cuddles during Netflix binge sessions are always on order.

Pet care experience
I’ve been dog obsessed since I was a kid, and am really hating not having one in my life right now. I’m still mourning my beloved Lulu, who left me after 15 wonderful years. I have experience with all kinds of dogs but prefer small, cuddly, and non/low shed. I can throw a ball for hours and will shower your baby with extra love while you’re away! I’m a little obsessed with “enrichment” activities and will gladly pamper your pooch with a spa day if you like.
Reviews

Being new to Rover, I was anxious over leaving my elder dog with someone she didn’t know. Elizabeth was openly communicative from the beginning, explaining her approach to dog sitting and her past experience. She made me feel comfortable about it. Drop off and pick up was simple. She provided a good update about how things went at the end of the day. I’d definitely check with her first when I need to board again.

Elizabeth is EXCELLENT! It was my first time leaving my sweet pup with a dog sitter because he usually travels with me, so I was a bit nervous. Elizabeth put me at ease immediately and took excellent care of him He was happy and looked great when we picked him up, and it is clear that Elizabeth really enjoys taking care of dogs. I would wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth, and look forward to booking with her in the future.

Elizabeth took great care of our dog over the 4th of July weekend. She messaged us every day to check in and sent pictures. She was also very mindful of how stressed dogs can be around fireworks and took care to manage our dog’s stress. Would definitely use her services again!

Elizabeth was outstanding with our active pup. She sent us regular updates and made sure he took his medication and daily walks. Remy came back home happy and healthy!
