You could not ask for a better person to care for your pet than Elizabeth Ditton.SHe is loving, patient, responsible, conscientious, and has a sense of humor that is able to cut the tension and lift above any difficulties. I am aware that Elizabeth has had 3 pets in her adult life. She had a pet cat when she was in the Peace Corps in Jamaica and due to a variety of government regulations she was unable to bring her cat home. Where I have the most knowledge is with the 2 dogs she owned. Bruno was a German Shepherd mix that she rescued while she was in college. Bruno developed an unwavering loyalty and affection with Elizabeth. So much so that he was constantly by her side. When Bruno needed surgery on his leg, in spite of her limited finances, Elizabeth paid for the surgery and nursed him back to health. Bruno’s health became so robust that Elizabeth and Bruno were able to hike the Appalachian Trail together. Elizabeth was able to find a good home for Bruno when she was accepted to serve in the Peace Corps. For the past 12 years Elizabeth and her husband Mike had a pit bull mixed breed rescue named Rugo. Rugo had many peculiar habits that Elizabeth and Mike encountered with patience, wonder, love and humor. I have never met a more strange and timid dog than Rugo. Yet while other people might impatiently given up on Rugo, Elizabeth taught him to be less timid and more courageous.
