Pet care experience

Pet BFF w/ Professional Background!

When I was 8, I wrote a poem about how badly I wanted to hang out with animals all day, added my parents' land line #, and then made a ton of copies for each mailbox in the neighborhood. I was sole proprietor of the Elizabeth's House, Dog, Cat, & Plant Sitting operation for about 10 years until I left home for undergrad. Now at 38 I've continued to offer my services to any family, friends, coworkers, etc. in need of a responsible, thoughtful, detail-oriented person for house, pet, and or plant sitting. I have experience caring for pets with a variety of care needs: senior animals, puppies & kittens, pets that need to be administered medication and/or special diets, and animals with behavioral issues. I am deeply respectful of every animal's unique personality, and take time to understand and anticipate your pet's every need. I will treat your fur babies like they're my own! I took a break from Rover for the past 2 years, but now I'm back and excited to meet some new clients <3

House Sitting • Jul 29, 2026

Elizabeth is fantastic! She took excellent care of Hugo. We could see he was so happy and relaxed in every pic she sent us. She was great with communication, sending us photos and updates, and also took great care of our house. Most importantly, Hugo was having such a good time. He was in great hands with Elizabeth and we will absolutely ask her to stay with Hugo again!

Elizabeth has been a blessing over the past few years. She has watched my beloved dog Bruno and taken care of my home (including watering my dear plants) on numerous occasions for both weekends and longer term commitments. She will take care of your pet and home as if it was her own. Bruno took to her immediately and he isn’t an easy pup to win over. I highly recommend Elizabeth for your caretaking needs. She is a natural at making you and your furry friend comfortable! She is THE BEST!

Elizabeth has been an absolute angel when it comes to my pets. The first time I had Elizabeth care for my animals, I had an elderly cat that needed some special care, meds, specific diet and a lot of attention. At the time, my dog was younger and didn’t need much, but he was not great with other dogs. She effectively cared for my cat and kept my sweet dog out of trouble with other dogs. Since then, my cat has passed and my pooch has aged and now needs more attention and Elizabeth has stepped up and understood the needs of what an aging animal requires. She has always enacted and stood by any of my rules or requirements.

When my partner and I have been out of town for extended periods of time (especially due to this crazy pandemic year) Elizabeth has been truly priceless as both a dog-sitter, house-sitter and surrogate plant mom. She has come and stayed at our beloved East Village apartment three times now, twice for one-month periods when we had to be gone for a family emergency. She was prompt and communicative (sending pics and updates) during these stressful times, putting our minds at ease when we were away from our two pups, one of whom was a high energy terrier going through a difficult period of "puppy-itis" at the time and the other who is a senior schnauzer with separation anxiety issues who required time-sensitive medication and extra care. She left our home cleaner and brighter than we left it, our plants thriving, and (I hate to admit) both our dogs seemed almost more sad to see her go than happy for our return! Can't say enough good things about Elizabeth- responsible, trustworthy, fastidious, dog-savvy and real life saver. Highly recommend!! :)

I can't speak more highly of Elizabeth, she has been my go-to walker for the past two years. She has always provided me with excellent communication and superior care of my pets. I appreciate her genuine love for all my animals, not just my dogs! Every time she has house sat for me she left my home spotless and even left lovely little touches such as a small vase of flowers.

Safety, trust & environment

I treat any space I stay in as if it were my home. This means you'll come back to a clean, tidy, organized house, with thriving plants and happy pets. I'm comfortable with crate training, reinforcing behavioral & obedience training as set by pet owners, and using special muzzles & harnesses for walks as needed. As an amateur horticulture enthusiast, I will also make sure to maintain awareness of the environmental needs of any plants and gardens in my care. I always share GPS location with families when I'm taking their pet on a hike or leaving the home!

Pets

A typical day

When hanging out with your dogs, we'll be taking plenty of field trips to the rail trail, Comeau property, any other local hikes and even the Kingston Point dog park (if they're into that sort of thing!) I love playing fetch, chasing/being chased, and also just hanging out with a treat puzzle or lounging on the couch. I am experienced with Relationship-Based Training and love to build that into my time with your pup. With cats, I let them take the lead on quality time. If your cat is a big time snuggler, great, I love it! If they're more of a shy guy, that's also chill :) we can take it slow. I also really enjoy working on training and teaching tricks if your kitty is into it!

I'm excited to learn everything I can about your pet, so please spare me no detail on how to make them happy, no matter how big or small (or gross or goofy!) Also, let me know about anything you're working on with them training-wise so I can help support.
