Pet care experience
Former Vet Tech Asst. & Scientist
Hi, I’m Liz! Animals have always been at the center of my life. My husband and I recently lost our sweet 17-year-old lab, Toast, and while we’re not ready for another dog just yet, I would love to share my care and attention with yours. Being around pets brings me so much joy, and I truly treat every animal as if they were my own. I grew up surrounded by all kinds of animals - bunnies, chickens, dogs, cats, even a mouse named Jello! In high school and college, I worked as a veterinary technician assistant in Leawood and Lawrence and spent my time volunteering at Wayside Waifs and the Humane Society, so I have hands-on experience with pets of all temperaments and needs. Later, as a preschool teacher, I often house-sat and nannied for families to care both their kiddos, cars, dogs, chickens, mice, bunnies, and cows. Now as an environmental scientist, my passion for protecting animals and nature continues to guide me. When I’m not caring for pets, I love being outdoors - hiking, cycling, and paddleboarding with my husband are a few of my favorite things. Whether it’s long walks, dog park trips, check-ins, or snuggles on the couch, I’ll make sure your furry family member feels safe, loved, and happy ❤️ At this time I can only accept bookings in clean, smoke-free homes. I do not currently offer care for bunnies or pets that eat live bugs.
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
Customized Care: I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible - from feeding schedules to walk frequency - as your pet needs. I'm comfortable with any breed and size. I love caring for special needs dogs, just let me know in advance. Comfort & Attention: I tailor my care to your pet’s personality and needs. High-energy puppies get plenty of active play, structured walks, and mental stimulation, while older or introverted dogs and cats receive gentle handling, patience, and reassurance just like I gave my sweet 17yr old lab. Every pet gets the right balance of attention and calm to feel secure and happy. Play & Exercise: Walks, backyard playtime, or trips to the dog park (with owner approval) are part of the fun. Home Respect: I’ll keep your home tidy, water plants, bring in mail, and ensure everything feels just as you left it. Trust & Communication: I provide regular updates, photos, and quick check-ins so you always know how your pets are doing.
Ratings and reviews
Liz was always on time and was wonderful with our kitties! She gave them both meds every day with no issues and sent pictures and updates each day. The main reason I felt so comfortable though, was that at the initial meet and greet, our animals immediately came out to meet her (and her hubby) and were not standoffish or shy (as they can be with strangers). They could just tell she is an animal “person”! We will gladly hire her again.

Elizabeth and Jason were fantastic! We came home from our weekend away to two happy, well-cared-for pups and a house that was just as clean and tidy as we left it. They were reliable, communicative, and clearly took great care of everything while we were gone. We wouldn’t hesitate to have them house- and dog-sit for us again, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters.

Liz was a total dream come true! We have an anxious doggie who can be finicky about a lot of things and she immediately loved Liz and did so great with her while we were away, which helped me relax and enjoy my trip! Liz took great care of our dog and our house, left everything in tip top shape and the communication was a breeze, she made sure I knew how our dog was doing but didn’t send too many messages, giving me space to enjoy my time away. We will definitely be hiring her again!

Elizabeth was amazing at dropping in during our day trip! She's so kind and responsive and we love the pics she sends throughout the visit!

Our first time with Liz and already love her, will definitely be a repeat doggy with her!

Elizabeth was a godsend!! She did an amazing job with our wild crew and was great about sending updates while we were out of town! Can't thank her enough for taking this worry off our plates!
