Cat care experience

😻🐾 My CATchment area is Cheetwood / Cheetham Hill / Higher Broughton / Lower Broughton, and Manchester City Centre (where I work) north and central areas Strangeways, Greengate, Green Quarter, Ludgate Hill, Northern Quarter, Ancoats. *Please let me know your postcode in your initial enquiry* *Note that I built my business using CatInAFlat which has been taken over by Rover in April 2026, the site is terrible and it now costs you more to book me that it used to. To make it viable for both of us, I don’t charge much more to upgrade to a 60-minute visit, so have a look at that.* Hey! I'm Liz, I'm 39 and originally from Stafford but have lived in Manchester for 13years and this is my “forever home” now (I love the North West having gone to uni in Preston). I live in Cheetwood (M8), behind Strangeways, and I work hybrid in the city centre. I split my catsitting jobs between these two areas. I’ve been a sitter with CatInAFlat since April 2016 when it first came on the scene, 10 years ago alongside my day job. As of now I’ve completed 430+ separate holiday bookings on this site (god knows how many visits in total that would have been, in reality between 2,000 - 3,000), so you are in safe hands! I have my own rescue mog Tobias, a tabby, who used to live in a hoarding situation with 100 cats. He now lives the life of riley! I also have a stepson Dusty, a long haired giant black beastie who belongs to my boyfriend! We rescued him from a year in an open shelter! Watching Tobias and Dusty interacting is like the movie “Stepbrothers”. This was after a few years of me being in rented flats which didn’t allow pets - hence becoming a catsitter to fill the void. My parents cat Hebe passed away after Christmas age 18. I left her when I moved out to Mcr. She was a rescue cat who was a teenage mum and got kicked out of her old house. She was tortoiseshell same as my first cat, Sparkie, who I watched age 6 being born in my friend's wardrobe, ‘sparking’ my lifelong obsession with cats, and we had her til she passed away after a long and happy life. I've also had Moochie, a black and white rescue who we looked after in her twilight years; she had a broken jaw having been hit by a car. She was a sweet old lady and put up with a lot of hassle from child-me including dressing her up in all kinds of garb and putting doll’s glasses on her. (I’d like to say I grew out of this but Tobias/Dusty have a slew of hats, bow ties and novelty harnesses that come out occasionally and they accept this like troopers - mainly because it means they doesn’t have to catch their own food) You can rely on me to dote on your babies and treat (and sing to) them as if they were my own. I enjoy just being there and keeping your cats company; making sure they're not just fed, watered and cleaned out, but also don't get lonely while you're gone and also have some playtime if they want it. It makes me very happy and also hopefully minimises the ‘cat sulk’ on your return! I will always try and accommodate your preferred times for a visit but please note I will weigh this up vs how far away you live when I have more than 1 booking a day. My general hours are 6am to 10pm. If you book for 2 visits on a weekday and I run out of time in the morning (before work) to do a full 30mins, I will make up the time on the evening visit. For 2-visits a day I will always arrange jobs so your visits are at least 8 hours apart between me leaving in the morning and me arriving again in the evening, unless you advise otherwise. *House-sitting* Please note our rates are based on being there 12 hours overnight, usually 8pm to 8am, or 7-7 or 9-9 if you prefer. It is not to stay in your home 24/7. We do have day jobs, family, pets, chores and other catsitting jobs to attend. Happy to negotiate extra visits in the middle of the day or to extend the evening slightly for an extra charge. (On a weekend, chances are I’ll be sleeping in anyway so you may get some extra hours for free!) I'm one of those people who stops and chats to every cat sat on a wall, and I don’t care who’s watching! I’ve yet to sit a cat so far that I didn’t become friends with eventually. (Dreamies obviously help, but I’d like to think it wasn’t purely cupboard love) I will spam you with photos and videos every day while you are away for peace of mind, and tell you what they've been up to. Having a sitter in (their) own home is stress on your cats than a cattery! On that note, having a sitter has the added benefit of us looking after your property, having the lights on in the evening or opening curtains so burglars don't think you're away! Plus taking the bins out, collecting post etc. Anything to make your life easier please just mention. If I can be helpful - I will be helpful - for no extra charge. Many of my regular clients I’ve worked with for a few years are like family friends now and it’s nice to offer that support. I'm also a dab hand with a houseplant so I can try and keep those alive. If you need any advice on quality food (I spend hours researching and have tested most...well, my cats have!) or which litter or toys are best rated ask anytime as I’ve experienced a wide range of both through my time catsitting! I always carry a set of what I’ve found are the most popular cat toys if you don’t mind me testing them out. And if you’ve just moved to Manchester my other passion is giving great suggestions on where to eat and drink! Get in touch :) I try and respond straight away but sometimes I have to check my diary first so please hang fire, I will get back to you, but please remember to tell me where exactly you live up front x

Liz is absolutely brilliant to have as a cat sitter, I feel so much less anxious leaving my boys with her. Thanks again! :)

Liz was fantastic as always. We’ve trusted her with looking after our girls for a number of years now, and she is brilliant with them both. Our cats are quite timid, but they always come out to say hi when Liz comes to see them. We can tell she really spends time with them and they know and trust her now. Couldn’t recommend a better person to trust with your beloved pets than Liz.
