Availability
I graduated from my Master’s program this past December and now I have a semester off before I start teaching in the fall. Currently, my schedule is wide-open, so I can devote as much time to your pet as you need! Besides what is in my calendar, I can build my schedule around you and your family’s needs. I am generally available for drop-ins and walks any day of the week at whatever time, and drop-ins can be longer (up to 6 hours) to help keep your pets company.

Safety, trust & environment
I live a 5 minute walk away from Riverside Park and a 10 minute walk away from Central Park, so your dog can have a nice walk in a green space with plenty of stimulation. I am happy to wipe down paws and bums or brush any dog post-walk, if requested. Regarding drop-ins, I can adapt based on your pets’ needs. If they just want a quiet buddy to keep them company and give them love, or an active play partner to help get some energy out, I can help! I can either play with your pet physically with their toys, or I can do basic training and brain games with them to get them mentally stimulated. Additionally, if you need me to feed your pet, I am very familiar with elaborate doggy meals, so if you have a number of supplements or add-ins that you like to give to your pets, I’m happy to feed them with all the luxury they’re accustomed to!

Columbia grad looking to pet sit!
Pet care experience
(Note: Unfortunately, I cannot board or do daycare for dogs that shed!) Hello! I am Elise, a recent graduate from Columbia with a Master’s degree in Classics. I live in the UWS and I have been missing interacting with animals on a daily basis. I grew up taking care of my family dogs, Gary and Mindy (cockapoos, 15-20lbs, 12 and 11yo) since they were 8 weeks old, and I have pet-sat my friends’ and family members’ dogs and cats since I was 9. I am most familiar with dogs under 40lbs, but am happy to look after larger dogs as well. Because of my flexible schedule, I am able to spend as much time with your pets as you wish, and I can spend that time as actively with your pet as they need to stay happy! I can administer eye drops and medication, and I have a lot of experience brushing dogs’ coats and teeth if your pet is accustomed to a daily/weekly brush. I can look after dogs of any age, especially if you’re looking for someone to stay for a longer period of time with a puppy for who may have higher potty training needs. I absolutely adore animals and I look forward to meeting you and your companions soon!

Reviews

Elise went above and beyond. She took great care of our cat, helped me bring in some unexpected packages and was an excellent communicator. Highly recommend
Elise was great! Took care of our two shy kittens and they immediately loved her! We will definitely book her again !!

Elise was an excellent sitter for my cat Coco. She was attentive, she gave detailed updates, and she was very flexible and resourceful when issues arose. I felt reassured that Coco was being well taken care of while I was away on vacation. Highly recommend Elise!

Elise is an extremely dedicated and conscientious dog walker! She has a ton of love for our older dog, who can be stubbron at times. Elise is very professional, punctual, and reliable. We are big fans!
