Hello, I’m Elisa, I have many years of experience training, looking after and fostering dogs. I used to work at the Battersea dogs home in London and the Animal Protection League (enpa.it) in Italy and I have fostered and looked after many dogs of different ages, breeds & sizes (both male and female) and still do regularly. I have studied dog behaviour and training, and practice on my own dogs and the dogs I look after, it’s always been my passion so I am also happy to advise on any small behaviour problems you may want to correct. I live with my husband who also helps me looking after the dogs, we both work from home so its very rare that dogs need to be left alone, and when needed this is only for short periods or an hour or so. We have 2 children of 8 and 10 years old, both of whom love having doggie guests and know the important rules for looking after dogs, but we won’t be able to look after dogs that are not good with children. We have an 8 year old dog called Baloo who is very mature and calm, he sometimes takes a few days before he wants to play with new dogs (until then he keeps to himself) but once they know each other they usually become good friends. He is tolerant and playful, however there are a few dogs that he just doesn’t get on with, mainly big boisterous dogs and non castrated males, and this is usually clear on their first meeting. A meeting to introduce the dogs in advance is always necessary. We have a detached house with a good size secure garden where the dogs have access any time they need and they get at least 2 walks a day of about 1 hour each, we live close to the beach so most walks are on the seafront but we also go for woodland and countryside walks regularly as there is a lot of choice nearby. I have registered to Rover because my family and I love having more dogs around but can’t take the full time commitment of owning 2 dogs. We treat every dog like it was our own and are looking forward to meeting yours!
