I grew up with my parents' pet dog and cat, and the many (many) dogs in my extended family of over 200 people in Chicago. While humans are lovely, I am getting into pet care purely for the love of animals. I recently graduated with an MBA from an area school, and my full-time job is in marketing. While I can't make the leap to having a pet full-time, I do miss the comfort, joy, and company they provide. I adore all kinds of animals, and will treat your furbabies as if they were my own. I have dog-sat for family members and close friends in their homes and mine, and never had an issue. I even helped a friend adopt her first dog ever right before the pandemic! I have never been bitten, (intentionally) scratched, or chased. My personal history managing a chronic illness has instilled a sense of responsibility that I bring to all aspects of life, and in the past few years I've combined that with my nurturing side through volunteering with children, growing a vegetable garden, and occasionally babysitting.
