Pet care experience
Lifelong Pet Lover
I’ve been caring for pets since I was 10 years old, when I started my own small pet sitting business. Since then, I’ve gained years of hands-on experience with a variety of animals. I’ve stayed overnight at clients’ homes multiple times to make sure their pets felt safe and comfortable while their owners were away. Whether it’s feeding, playing, or giving lots of love, I take pride in providing attentive and reliable care. One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is walking dogs. Walking is a huge part of my daily routine!

We had Elena stay with our dogs in a hotel during my company holiday party. She was very adaptable to the situation and took excellent care of them. Highly recommend Elena!

Elena went above and beyond when she cared for my dog and cats. Nora (golden retriever) loved her and the walks. Excellent commutation as well.

Schedule
As a teacher, I have a structured schedule that actually works really well for pet care. I'm free before 8 AM, which makes me available for early morning walks or check-ins—perfect for starting a pet’s day on the right foot. My workday ends by 3 PM, so I’m available for afternoon visits, feedings, walks, or overnight stays during the week. On weekends, I’m completely free and can dedicate 100% of my time to pet sitting or extended stays. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because it’s something I truly enjoy.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always aim to follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel safe and comfortable. I start by carefully reviewing any instructions the owner provides, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and any specific habits or preferences their pet has. I make sure to give them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection so they don’t feel lonely while their family is away. I also keep the home tidy, clean up after the pets, and provide regular updates to the owners, including photos and messages, so they can feel at ease knowing their pets are in good hands. I take my role seriously and treat every pet like my own.
A typical day
I love keeping pets active, happy, and engaged while their owners are away! For dogs, I enjoy going on walks, playing fetch, exploring new parks, or just running around the yard if they have one. If they like toys or tug-of-war, I’m always ready to play! For cats, I’ll spend time playing with their favorite toys, giving them plenty of affection (if they’re into that), or just hanging out to keep them company. I also enjoy teaching simple tricks, offering interactive games that challenge their minds and keep them engaged and making sure they get plenty of love and attention. Every pet is different, so I always try to match the activities to their personality and energy level.

- It’s really helpful to know each pet’s daily routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. I like to ask about their feeding schedule, exercise habits, medical conditions, and any medications they take. It’s also important to know how they typically behave around strangers, other animals, or in new environments. I always ask if they have any fears or triggers—like loud noises, certain toys, or being left alone—and what comforts them. Lastly, I like to know what they love! Whether it’s a favorite toy, a belly rub, or a certain walking route, those little details help me give the best care possible.
