When i pet-sit at the owner's home i will play and cuddle with your pet making sure it's comfortable with me and i will feed it according to the owner's instructions. When i do dog walking i will make sure the dog is having fun and i will exercise it according to its age and condition.

Ahead of time, apart from the basic information such as age and health conditions, I would like to know what are the typical behaviours the dog is likely to display when out on a walk, for example: how is the dog with other dogs, other animals and with people? Is it food driven? Is there anything it is particularly scared of? Does it like to steal other dog’s ball?
A typical day
When looking after a dog I like to make sure it is stimulated both mentally and physically. I would always do a nice long walk with young dogs, making sure they have a good run around (when allowed off-leash) but also a good smell around. When allowed off-leash I practice recall first on the leash to make sure I can get their attention easily (usually with the help of a treat or a toy). I like to do “enrichment” games where I hide treats and they have to find them. My favourite places in Colchester to take dogs for a walk are Castle park and Highwood.

Experienced, reliable and passionate about animals. I have years of experience in caring for animals. I volunteered as dog unit in the Mountain Rescue division of Alpini with my dog Mina for over 6 years in Italy and I have a good understanding of basic training and dog behaviour. I also recently obtained a certificate as Vet assistant. I own a dog (Mina) and a cat (Aca) and I grew up in a family where there was always a pet around. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet, so I will do my best to make it as easy and fun for your pet as possible.
