A home from home for your dog
I have had a dog since I was a child, growing up with two staffies. When I was unable to have a dog of my own myself and my partner Dan became volunteer walkers for a local dog charity and walked the dogs there every weekend. During lockdown I fostered one of the dogs I had walked, eventually rehoming him myself. We have now had him for five years and he is currently a Pets as Therapy dog. He comes everywhere with us, including a three month road trip around Spain. My day job is a freelance writer, working for dog charities.

I would highly recommend Ellie and her family. They looked after Floyd, our rough collie, for a week while abroad and I can’t praise them enough. They kept sending updates and pictures and Floyd had a real holiday with them. He came back happy and relaxed.Thank you Ellie for everything!

Eleanor was very flexible and seemed to care for our dog really well. He seemed to have a good time! We had loads of photos during his stay which was very reassuring.
Ellie has grown up with dogs and has always played an active role with them. When she had her first own home and missed having a dog due to work commitments, she and her partner walked dogs at the weekend from her local dog rescue centre. When Covid hit she was the first to answer the call for fostering . Vinnie arrived and within a couple of days she knew he was never going back to the rescue centre. Our own dog, an elderly Staffie, is always welcome in their home and is treated as part of the family. The dogs get on well together and we never worry about Keira when she is with Ellie. I would highly recommend her and the family as a perfect home from home.

Schedule
Myself and my partner Dan both work from home. I am here most of the time but if I’m ever not my partner will be. I currently work part-time, on the days I’m working my toddler is at nursery but the other days he will be here with me too - he has grown up with our dog and so is very comfortable around them. We also have a dog of our own who we care for daily and will treat your dog like our own while they are here.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fenced garden and plenty of walks nearby. We have a dog of our own who will be able to keep them company but can also keep them separate if you would prefer this. We walk our dog on the lead and will do the same with yours. We use Rover ourselves for our dog and know how important it is to know your dog is safe and cared for, so we will send you photos and updates throughout the duration of their stay.

A typical day
On a nursery day my partner Dan and I both work from home. Other days I have my toddler with me. I freelance so my day is very flexible. My dog Vinnie will be around to keep them company. We have a large fenced garden and lots of dog toys for them to enjoy.

- It’s important to know that your dog gets on with other dogs as our dog Vinnie will be here too. We do however have stair gates so can keep them separate or offer some time alone if they need it.
