Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I currently work part-time and attend classes two nights a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility for daytime visits, walks, and overnight care. I plan my schedule around each pet’s needs, making sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and affection. Caring for animals is one of the best parts of my week—it’s grounding, rewarding, and something I truly enjoy.

I also like to know about medical needs, allergies, triggers, or anxieties so I can plan accordingly. The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for from day one.
A typical day
I love keeping pets active and engaged in ways that fit their personality. For dogs, that might mean walks, playtime with their favorite toys, gentle training games, or quiet cuddle breaks for older pups. For cats, I use interactive toys, enrichment puzzles, and calm companionship to keep them happy and relaxed. My goal is always to make every visit feel safe, stimulating, and fun!

I have 15+ years of experience caring for cats and dogs of all breeds and personalities. As a former AKC conformation and lure coursing competitor, I’m confident handling everything from playful puppies to shy or reactive pets. I share my home with four cats, including rescues, so I understand animals with unique needs. I offer calm, patient, and reliable care—no breed or size restrictions, just a focus on safety, trust, and comfort. Most pets, if asked, would prefer to stay home rather than go to a boarding kennel while you are gone. They are in their own home, eating their familiar food from their regular bowl, playing in their own yard, sleeping on their favorite bed or couch. My goal as a pet sitter is to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe so you can enjoy your time away from home. I visit your home at least twice a day, feeding, checking water bowls, petting and loving, supervising exercise and play time, and handing out treats. I am especially good with senior dogs and have experience getting even difficult dogs to take medications. I also do things like collect mail or newspapers and turn lights on and off so that it looks like someone is around.

Elayne has been dog sitting for us for a few years now. She is great with our dogs (two greyhounds) and they love her. She is very good about letting them out often and playing with them in the yard. Our dogs also get several different kinds of vitamins & supplements and she is great about giving them the correct dosages. She also brings in the mail & waters the garden if needed! When our oldest dog was having arthritis issues, Elayne would give her a little doggie massage that helped her move better. Elayne is the best dog sitter we've ever had!
