Pet care experience

Happy Pets, Happy You!

I’ve been around dogs my whole life and caring for them has always come naturally. I grew up with multiple pups in the house, learning early on how to meet their needs with love and consistency. For the past few years, I’ve also fostered dogs—many of them shy, scared, or coming from tough backgrounds. I’ve helped them build trust, gain confidence, and ultimately find their forever homes. It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Whether your dog is playful, anxious, energetic, or just loves belly rubs, I’ll treat them like my own—with patience, compassion, and plenty of care.

Elana was great! She watched my dog for two weeks and I could tell his was in good hands. She’s super friendly and a great communicator. She sent regular updates and asked questions when she noticed he was experiencing some anxiety. I would definitely recommend Elana to anyone needing a dogsitter for their furry friend!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work a typical in person 8-4 job. I’m used to managing my time efficiently, so fitting in walks, check-ins, or overnight stays comes naturally. Whether it’s early morning, midday, or evening, I make sure pet care is a consistent and rewarding part of my weekly routine. I truly enjoy the balance it brings to my life—and the joy that comes with spending time with animals.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, pets have a safe, calm environment with plenty of attention and affection. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with a secure yard—perfect for supervised play and potty breaks. I don’t have any pets of my own currently, but I occasionally foster, so I’m used to welcoming dogs with different needs. I can comfortably crate dogs if requested, and I always follow each pet’s routine to help them feel right at home. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, tidy, and focused on keeping pets happy, healthy, and stress-free while you're away.

A typical day

When I’m watching dogs, I make sure they have lots of fun and feel right at home! I love spending time playing fetch, tug-of-war, or just running around with them. There’s a dog park right in my apartment complex, so we’ll have a safe and fun place to get plenty of exercise and social time (if they’re comfortable around other dogs). I also enjoy going on walks, giving belly rubs, and relaxing together after playtime. Whether your pup is full of energy or just wants to snuggle, I’ll make sure they feel loved, happy, and cared for the entire time.

Before pet sitting, it’s helpful to know the dog’s daily routine, including feeding times, potty breaks, walks, and bedtime. Details about their diet, treats, and any allergies or medications are important too. Information on their temperament, behavior around other dogs or people, and how they do on a leash helps me make sure they feel safe and comfortable. It’s also useful to know which commands they respond to, what activities they enjoy, and whether they’re crate-trained or allowed to roam freely. Any house rules, like furniture restrictions, are good to know as well. Lastly, having vet information and an emergency contact is essential just in case.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
