Availability

I currently work full time as a medical front desk receptionist so pets that can be left alone for several hours or a full day by themselves are most conducive to my schedule. My schedule is 8-5 but I often have the ability to come home for lunch to allow for pet potty breaks depending on the client's proximity to my job.

Care will obviously depend on the size, age, and usual routine of the dog in question. I find it best for older dogs to stick to a routine as much as possible, even when on walks but I am happy to mix things up if you think your dog would like a change of pace or needs some new mental stimulation! I'm also happy to work on some basic obedience (stopping at corners, not pulling on the leash, etc) with dogs by request. I only use positive reinforcement and have had great success- even teaching old dogs new tricks with this method! ******* When caring for rabbits, I abide by exotic vet-determined best practices and House Rabbit Society guidelines- which include that a rabbit MUST be housed indoors in an appropriately sized space (4x4ft minimum if not free roam). I am unable to care for rabbits housed outside.

Information Eileen M. would like to know about your pet

Before I take your dog on walks, I need to know if your dog reacts strongly- negatively OR positively- towards anything we may encounter on a walk. Dogs, people, small animals, birds, cars, bicycles, etc. are all things that many dogs are reactive towards and I want to be prepared ahead of time so that your dog and I can both have a successful walk! Additionally, knowing any mobility issues your dog may struggle with can help me be respectful of their physical abilities.

A typical day

Knowing a dog's favorite activities is a must for me! Does your dog like people? Are they happiest chasing a ball or a frisbee? Do they enjoy a leisurely stroll to sniff ALL of their favorite spots on a walk? I'm up for it all!

Pet care experience

I have taken care of multiple different types of animals- from dogs to cats to bunnies and birds! - during my life. For 16 years, I was the proud owner of an amazing Irish Setter who was both a family pet and therapy dog. He has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge but while he was here gave me a wide array of experiences from caring for young active dogs to learning how to meet senior dogs where they are in their lives. Additionally, I have two rabbits and have experience with indoor rabbit care following House Rabbit Society best practice guidelines. I'm available for *indoor* bunny sitting as well as dog and cat care!

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received. Eileen was incredibly attentive and patient and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Not only were my dogs well cared for, but my home was too. Everything was kept tidy, secure, and exactly as I left it. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pets and your home with real care, Eileen is the person you want. Truly outstanding service and someone I’ll absolutely book again.

Eileen stayed with our pets for several days while we were away. She communicated well and kept us updated on how they were doing. Very helpful sitter!

This was our first Rover hire, but Eileen made it easy. She was awesome because when she arrived at our house, she eagerly greeted each of three labrador dogs she would be watching. We had communicated about the need for our family to be away from home for a company event and needed help with our dog, our daughter and son-in-law's dog, and a foster that we had for just 14 days. Eileen understands dogs of different ages and abilities and commanded their attention with grace for each of their personalities: Two dogs were over 7 year old, one dog was under 2 years old. We enjoyed the night out and trusted all would be well with Eileen. It was. Thank you!
