Safety, trust & environment

Since having a rescue who must have been Houdini in a past life, rescue parents understand the stress, I have developed a borderline paranoid watch over dogs. I know all escape routes on a walk (including all the holes in fences behind bushes), if a dog so much as thinks about going through a gap in a fence I know about it. I have watched her outsmart and manipulate many humans with her wit and innate cuteness. I will not give any dog, no matter how cute, my guacamole. No matter how much they say they haven't been fed and their parents give it to them. I care for each pet as if they are my own. They have my full attention and adoration. No matter how much they poo. I listen to each pets needs and preferences to give tailored care to each booking.

Information Edith B. would like to know about your pet

Please do let me know if your pet has any special requirements. If your pet has their own unique habits or behaviour. My dog does a double tactical poo to check out picnics which most people might not know to plan ahead for without experience. What are your habits together? Any pet peeves I can avoid in your home? Any boundaries I should know ahead of time? What's your pets favourite toy and place to scratch/ pet? Does your pet have any fears? What's the best way to comfort your pet? How often would you like updates on your pet? Is there any training you would like me to pay attention to and upkeep? Are there enrichment activities you would specifically like me to do? What is their recall like?

A typical day

For the most part (while pet sitting) I like to keep things fairly calm so the home stays nice, intact and nobody feels overwhelmed. Not stressing them out or disrupting routine. I like to cuddle up, if they're willing to, and give gentle pets while we watch something or while I'm working on my laptop or phone. This is unless a dog restless, wanting some play time, active bonding or wants a walk. In that case I'm happy to run around, get on the floor and play with their favourite toys. I let them tell me how they want to spend their time so the routine really depends on my client (and their human of course) On walks I prefer to do circular walks until I feel we've both had enough. If there's a preferred route you would like me to take let me know, I think occasionally changing the way we walk is great way to give more enrichment with smells and general exploring to keep their mind (and noses) alive. I let them have a good sniff of what they want (unless that's food or a potentially dangerous item or place) while keeping an eye on them. This is their time and how they choose to spend it is their choice (Within reason).

Pet care experience

I have always loved dogs. Since we rescued our Staffie-cross from Battersea 5 years ago I have found that I have a natural way with them. I am fun, playful and enjoy going on long walks, especially if I get to meet other dogs too. I am good at understanding what dogs want and need (especially doggy back massages!). I am honest, reliable and currently very flexible with my availability. If there are any specific needs or requirements that either of you have let me know and we can sort it out. I will also consider childcare as well as looking after your dogs. I am responsible, tidy and very reliable. I hope to hear from you soon. I understand how important it is that you find someone you trust to look after your precious pet.

We were very happy to leave out ten-month-old puppy with Edith yesterday evening. She was reliable and kept in touch with us. She interacted well with our dog and he seemed happy in her company. Thank you, Edith.

Edith was incredibly good with our dog Didi! She took extra care with arranging a meet and greet so our rescue felt comfortable with her! Edith also was punctual and clearly had good experience with dogs, asking the right questions on what was needed to take care of our dog. Plus, Didi took to her very well and was sad when Edith left! Would 100% have Edith sit for us again!
