Skilled with anxious pets!
I know that there are many pet parents who are reluctant to leave their pet in the care of someone else due to their pet’s particular personality. I have years of experience in building positive relationships with anxious pets. My approach is calm, slow, and tailored to what I sense from your pet. I can take time to ensure you are confident that your pet will be as comfortable as possible with me. This can include a phone conversation or virtual meeting with me at no charge so that you can tell me about your pet’s specifics, ask any questions that you have, and then decide whether to move forward or not. I can also do drop ins while you are home so that your pet can get to know me while having the comfort of their favorite people present. I have had a wide range of pets in my lifetime. From lizards to gerbils to rats, and many dogs and cats. I have a calm and laid back approach when I meet pets for the first time, and they respond well to that. I am especially familiar with the care and cautions for brachycephalic dog breeds like pugs and English bulldogs. I worked as a veterinary assistant years ago and learned to give pills and give injectable medications.

My career has involved doing home visits for children and I am familiar with how to be a respectful guest. I will follow the preferences of the hiring client whether it be to take my shoes off at the door or the like. I am good at reading cats and dogs and approaching them at a pace and in a way that matches each one’s unique personality. I will spend all of my visit time in direct care with my furry clients: feeding, petting, playing.

Schedule
I retired at the end of 2025 from my full time job. I now work part time from home, which allows me the flexibility to do more rover visits.
