Information Eddie T. would like to know about your pet

I don't really have a breed preference, but I love dogs with character and energy. Dogs that can make me laugh with silly antics, and dogs that love to play. I guess it's important to get some insight about a dog's temperament when we first meet, so I'll be able to understand it better. But even shy dogs come out of their shell sooner or later.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks The dog park is only a few blocks from our house, so usually I pack up all the dogs at least once (sometimes twice) a day so that they can get some some really robust exercise at the park. If it's a nice day, we might go for walk out on the river trail, the Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay East, Clear Creek or Whiskeytown National Park (just 7 miles away). Your dog's sleeping arrangement Our dogs sleep in the bedroom with us, and we would encourage your dog to sleep at the foot of the bed. If it would prefer to sleep with our teenage daughter or in the living room, that's fine as well. If your dog is more comfortable being crated, we can accommodate you as well. Our dogs were crated during the potty training process, but have slept with us since then. If your dog has its own bed, please bring it! If your dog is used to sleeping on your bed with you (and is small enough), we're fine with that. We want your dog to be as comfortable as possible. Time I'll spend with your dog I think it might be easier to tell you when I WONT be spending time with your dog. Sometimes I run to the store, and run errands, but otherwise, I love to spend time interacting with the dogs, encouraging them to play, and taking them on field trips (to the dog park, to the lake, walking on trails). I treat your dog like its my dog. And I spend every minute I can with my dogs.

Pet care experience

Hi! We love dogs (and have two of our own, Casper & Olive). We started Puppy P.E. to help out people who work so that their dogs can get out and burn off energy instead of sitting at home alone all day. We'll also welcome your dog into our home and treat it like a member of the family while you're on vacation, or take care of your pets in your own home. Helping your pet be its happiest is my goal as a professional dog buddy. As an added bonus, when your dog stays with us, you get a whole family! My wife and college aged kids are very involved, and love to lavish love and attention on our guest dogs. We've got a large home with a doggy door for 24 hour access to the fenced & terraced backyard. We've got water features and lush vegetation, plus a brick patio and a large deck, plus a 2nd fenced yard that we can use as a dog run if needed, with another covered deck area. Why I love dog sitting I've been surrounded by dogs my whole life. When I was a kid, my grandparents lived next door, and they had Buster & Barney, then Pee Wee and a whole lot of Princesses. Strangely, every time they got a new female dog, they called her Princess. I really connect well with dogs because they seem to love unconditionally, love to be loved, and are always up for company. They say dogs are a man's best friend, and I feel fortunate to be in a situation where I'm surrounded by dog friends all the time. Our Home We live in a beautiful old historic home close to downtown. We have a landscaped front yard with a bench and fountain, and a giant, terraced back yard with a brick patio, wooden decks, bridges and lush vegetation, another fountain and a second yard with a dog run and covered deck area. Everything's fenced, and there's a doggy door into the home. It's a pretty sweet set up for us and dogs, plus we're just 6 blocks from the dog park, and a mile away from the river trails. About my yard It's an incredible yard that we've put a lot of work into to make it a fun, interesting environment for dogs. Our sliding glass door has a doggy door with a ramp for easy access for our dog with arthritis down to a brick covered patio. Then there are 3 separate sets of stairs up to the 2nd level of yard, with a redwood deck on one side, and a lush, landscaped area with trails and bridges that dogs love to run through. There's a third level as well, with a very large dog run that we really never use. The entire yard is fenced and secure. My experience administering medication I've never administered a shot, although I'd be willing to learn. I have no problem giving oral medicines and eye ointments and I've practiced a little bit of (totally untrained) EMT skills on a few dogs from time to time. (Ask me about the time I saved a choking dog at the dog park!)

We found Eddie after a cancellation and we were very happy with the care our dogs received from him and his wife from taking them to the dog park to making them feel at home in their home. We will definitely use Eddie again when we are visiting Redding and hope to find someone in our hometown as wonderful as him. This was the first time we've used Rover and we are so happy we found this service! Also, the pics and videos of our dogs really helped us to not worry about how they were doing. Thank you Eddie from all of us!

We left our dog with Eddie and Valerie for a day and night and couldn't have been more grateful to have found them! They are lovely, warm people who welcome you and your dog into their home. They are clearly animal lovers and make sure your puppy is well taken care of. They are very flexible and easy to communicate and work with. I could not recommend them more highly!!
