I currently fit it around my main job (I teach History at a London uni). I have plenty of experience working with older dogs, bigger dogs, and dogs that have behavioural and medical issues. I am confident dealing with older dogs, bigger dogs, and dogs with behavioural issues. I'm also confident dealing with rescue or rehomed dogs that require close lead control or muzzling. When looking after pets in their owners home, I endeavour to follow the same routines that pets are used to, in order to minimise disruption.

We have a shy and timid rescue dog, so finding the right person to care for her is incredibly important to us. James has truly been wonderful—he managed to gently bring her out of her shell. It was clear he was patient, understanding, and genuinely cared about making her feel safe and comfortable. While we were away, James took excellent care of her and kept us reassured throughout. He showed up on time, followed all our instructions, and made sure she had everything she needed. It gave us real peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands. We especially appreciated his calm approach and the way he built trust with her so naturally. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend James to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dogsitter.

Schedule
I usually work from home and have flexible hours. This makes it easy to fit pet care around my routine. I try keep my calendar updated a month in advance, as I sometimes travel for work/research.
