Dog Lover and His Happy Old-Man Pup

I've been the primary caretaker for at least one dog for over twenty years. I believe dogs are an integral part of our family communities that should be attended to not just for their basic needs, but also for their comfort and emotional well-being. I work from home, and am fortunate to have weekends off. My dog and I start and finish every day with a walk, and we try to walk at least three more time throughout the day to one of several parks in the area, depending on the heat level. In addition to being able to ensure that dogs (mine and yours) have ample time outside to exercise and take care of their business, I regularly check-in to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. My dog (Igor) is about fifteen-years old, and he is an absolute sweetheart that loves spending time around other dogs. He has enough beds around the house that everyone could have their own, but he's also more than happy to share. Igor does not sleep or stay in a crate while I’m out of the house (he’s free range), but we can happily accommodate the routines of your pet.

Dylan did such a great job with our pup seven. She felt right at home and received so much love while she was there!

Dylan has looked after my pup a few times and every time I pick up my guy, he is happy, healthy, and well-worn out. It’s a good sign when your dog is happy to show up at the sitter’s house and isn’t eager to leave, and Dylan’s dog Igor is also as sweet as they come.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a small fenced yard with patio space and an outdoor dog bed. We have some fresh and pre-chewed sticks. I also live very close to two great parks that we can walk to (weather permitting), and if you’re dog is good with car rides, we often drive to some of our other favorite parks and trails in and around the city. One thing that I strongly believe: motion is lotion for dogs, so we will try to be as active and explore outdoor spaces together as much as the heat and everyone’s fitness allows.

Pets

A typical day

Depending on the weather, the dogs will go on two longer walks (approx 1 hr), one in the morning and one in the evening. The dogs will get an additional 3-4 trips to a mini park grassy area in the neighborhood to do their business. Around the house, they’ll have constant access to multiple clean water bowls refreshed throughout the day, at least one bed in every room for important naps, an overflowing toy basket, and I am always checking in to make sure everyone’s needs are met.

Let me know if your dog has any specific behavioral, dietary, medical, or other needs, and I will work to accommodate. Igor (my dog) is very good at reading the room and giving other dogs the space they need/want for those that are just a bit on the grumpier side, but if your beautiful pup absolutely can’t play with others, this probably isn't the right option for you.
