I have been taking care of other people's dogs for over 20 years, as well as always having had dogs of my own. I love spending time with dogs and they generally really like me as well. I only take 2 dogs at a time,besides my own dog and only dogs up to about 30lbs. Your baby will get lots of attention while in my home. I have a warm and friendly place here for your dog to spend time and a large fenced in back yard. I have loved dogs all my life. I love that dogs that have been here before are always excited to come back and also excited when their person returns. The best of both worlds. People sometimes have their nitch,and mine is that the dogs that come here generally like a quiet place with lots of individual attention. Dogs can play in the back yard and will get to go to dog parks and on walks, but there is not a large group of dogs and lots of activity. My dog, who is very small in size and big in personality, loves to play with dogs who are willing to romp and chase. I also please note, I do not take last minute requests for dogs who have never been here before. I DO HAVE A CAT, SO YOUR DOG MUST BE OK WITH CATS. THANKS! Why I love dog sitting I have lived with dogs since I was a child. I have done a lot of dog rescue and foster care. Dog sitting seems a natural extension of my lifelong relationship with dogs. Once I know a dog, they are like family to me, as my own dog was family to me. It is delightful for me to spend time with dogs. I will only take up to 2 other dogs at a time, so your dog will get a lot of personal attention. I want an atmosphere that is both playful and peaceful for your dog. About my yard I have a fenced in yard, that is rather large. There are raised veggie beds and some trees, as well as some plants along the lawn. My experience administering medication Definitely. I have done so many times over the years with different dogs and cats in my care. Please note: If your dog needs medication, other then mixed in their food, there is an extra $10 charge. If your dog needs to be fed more then twice a day, there is an extra $10 charge.

Dvora was wonderful! My dog Ziva had a great 10 day stay with Dvora and her dog Shira. Dvora took her hiking a bunch, sent cute photos, and made sure that my picky dog was still eating enough. I came home to a happy, tired pup!

Dvora took care of our small dog Kermit for four nights in late May, and when we picked him up, he was better-mannered than when we dropped him off! :) Dvora is wonderful. We've boarded Kermit with several other sitters in the area, and Dvora is the first one who's taken the time to actively listen to and communicate with our dog; we felt he was in great hands. We will definitely have Kermit stay with Dvora and her own wonderful pets (a cat and a small dog), again!
I’ve used Dvora’s services twice now and am a client for life!! I have an elderly chihuahua named Ellie who has anxiety and some mobility concerns, and I’ve been afraid to leave her with a sitter until now. Dvora changed that for us. She is thoughtful and thorough, and her intake packet allowed me to share all of my dog’s care info in advance, including on topics I would have forgotten to mention if Dvora hadn’t asked about them. Dvora is highly knowledgable with animal body language and pet care, and asked clarifying questions about what was normal for my dog throughout her stay. Dvora also did a test drop-off with me so we could see how Ellie did without me there, which hugely helped with my nerves and I’m sure it helped with Ellie’s too! Dvora even noticed when I’d forgotten to pack a favorite toy of Ellie’s and asked me about it so we could make a plan. She also noticed when Ellie had some good joint days and wanted to go for longer walks. When Ellie got tired, Dvora carried her back home. Now that Ellie has done two visits with Dvora, she is noticeably relaxed at Dvora’s home and has forged a friendship with Dvora’s sweet little pup Sheera. Dvora creates an intentional, loving space for your pup no matter how long or short their stay may be. I feel so fortunate to have found such a remarkable caregiver for Ellie.

Schedule
I am currently working 2 half days a week and so I am here a lot. I work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Otherwise i'm home a lot.

I have a large fenced in yard and I am home most of the time. I would take your baby on walks and/or dog parks if you are comfortable with that. I go on trail walks often with my dog and whoever else is here and able to go on trail walks. Always lots of love and pets and when ok, treats.

A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I walk both in my neighborhood and in an area that is open all around that is public land. This is about 10 minutes from my house. There are both flat areas and hilly areas, so where I walked would depend on the dogs ability ( for instance older dogs might want to be on flat ground). I also go for walks in Redwood Park. There is a beautiful trail and it is very peaceful there. Other off leash trails as well. I also take dogs to the dog park in Alameda. It is a great park and have never had a problem there. Your dog's sleeping arrangement That will depend on what your dog is used to. If you let the dog sleep on your bed, that would be fine here. If you have a dog bed and that is where the dog is used to sleeping, then it would be great to have the bed here for the dog. This will be worked out between you and me. I want your dog to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible, so we will figure out what is best for your dog. Time I'll spend with your dog Anywhere from 4 hours to all day. On Mon, Tues and Wed, I am out gardening for some hours. My next door neighbor will be coming over on those days to let out your dog ( and mine ) and will spend a little time with them. I am home late afternoon through the evening on those days. Thurs - Sun I am home most of the day and evening, with time for some errands when needed.

- First, besides a meet and greet, if that goes well, I ask the dog owner to leave the dog with me for about 2 hours as a trial run. There are 2 reasons for this: I want to see how the dog behaves without their person around and just as important, I want your dog to associate my home with a place you come back and get them. A first short stay works well for both of those reasons. I do not charge for this time. If we agree that I will board your dog, I have a long form for you to fill out with everything I will need to know.
